Usually, articles mention any person, place, thing, or term that redirects to them. Alternative names may be mentioned "in the first sentence, elsewhere in the article, or not at all". They are usually bolded but this is not required, especially if there are a large number of redirects to an article. Many redirects do not need to be mentioned in the target articles, and many others (e.g., {{R from other capitalization}}, {{R from misspelling}}, {{R from incorrect name}} and other variations on words) should not be mentioned.
This category is meant to contain otherwise valid redirects that are not currently mentioned in their target articles. In the end, redirects listed here generally have one of four outcomes:
- The redirect's name gets added to the target article.
- The redirect gets retargeted to a different article or list (where, ideally, it will be mentioned by name).
- {{R to article without mention}} is removed, and perhaps one or more others (e.g., {{R from merge}}) added.
- The redirect may be deleted (e.g., if there are problems other than it merely not being mentioned).
