Asit Pati is an Indian actor, director, and producer who primarily works in the Odia film industry.[1] Active in the industry since the late 1970s, he is known for his versatile roles in films such as Katha Rahigala Kala Kala Ku (1999), Most Wanted (2011), and Jhiata Bigidigala (2016).[2]
Career
[edit]Pati began his career in the late 1970s and has since established himself as a prominent figure in Odia cinema. His early work includes films like Maanini (1979) and Tike Hasa Tike Luha (1981).[2] He gained wider recognition for his supporting roles in commercially successful films throughout the 1990s and 2000s.
In addition to acting, Pati has ventured into production and direction. He directed and produced the 2002 film Maa Kande Aaji Puate Pain and produced the 2016 film Revenge.[1] He continues to remain active in the industry with recent appearances in films such as Hero No. 1 (2017) and The Guest House (2025).[3]
Political career
[edit]Asit Pati joined the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), a regional political party in the Indian state of Odisha. His entry into politics was noted alongside fellow veteran actor Uttam Mohanty, aiming to strengthen the party's presence ahead of local elections.[4]
