Eastridge Workforce Management (EWM) is a workforce solutions provider specializing in Employer of Record (EOR), Managed Service Provider (MSP), and Vendor Management System (VMS) services. Formed in February 2025 through the acquisition of workforce management divisions from Eastridge Workforce Solutions by Workwell Group, the company manages over $400 million in contingent workforce spend across North America.[1]

History

[edit]

Origins in Eastridge Workforce Solutions

[edit]

EWM traces its origins to Eastridge Workforce Solutions, a staffing firm founded in 1972 in San Diego, California. The company developed into an employee-owned staffing provider, featured by the San Diego Economic Development Corporation as a model for successful employee ownership structures.[2] By 2023, Eastridge had grown to become one of the largest staffing firms in the United States, with Forbes listing the company among professional recruiting firms serving multiple industries.[3]

Under the leadership of CEO Seth Stein, who joined the company in 1998 and was recognized as a finalist for San Diego Business Journal's CEO of the Year Awards in 2021,[4] Eastridge expanded its service offerings to include workforce management technology and employer of record services.[5][6]

2025 Acquisition by Workwell Group

[edit]

On February 3, 2025, UK-based Workwell Group acquired Eastridge's payrolling, MSP and VMS business divisions, establishing EWM as a standalone entity. The transaction included the company's EOR, MSP, and VMS business lines, along with its proprietary Talient platform.[7][8]

The acquisition expanded Workwell Group's North American operations significantly, bringing the group's combined annual revenues to over $2 billion and establishing a presence managing $400 million in contingent workforce spend.[9]

Services and Technology

[edit]

EWM provides integrated workforce management solutions through three primary service lines:

  • Employer of Record (EOR): Payroll and compliance services for contingent workers across the United States and internationally
  • Managed Service Provider (MSP): Program management for organizations' contingent workforce, including vendor management and cost optimization
  • Vendor Management System (VMS): The Talient platform, a cloud-based technology solution for workforce management

Talient Platform

[edit]

Originally launched in 2015 as Eastridge Cloud and rebranded in December 2023, Talient serves as EWM's proprietary VMS technology. The platform achieved SOC 2 compliance certification in 2024 and integrates with major enterprise resource planning systems.[10]

Recognition

[edit]

In 2023, Everest Group recognized Eastridge (prior to the Workwell acquisition) as both a "Major Contender" and "Star Performer" in its PEAK Matrix® assessment for Contingent Workforce Management – Managed Service Provider category. The assessment evaluated 30 service providers across market adoption, portfolio mix, and innovation capabilities.[11]

Under Eastridge Workforce Solutions, the Workforce Management division achieved a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 90 and the firm received ClearlyRated's Best of Staffing awards for three consecutive years, placing it in the top 2% of staffing firms in North America for client and talent satisfaction.[12]

Parent company Workwell Group has received industry recognition including Contracting Awards winner status and Federation of Contractor and Staffing Associations (FCSA) accreditation for both umbrella and limited company services.[13]
