GZDoom is a port of id Software’s Doom engine, created for newer platforms by Christoph Oelckers. and adds new features to said engine.
Its parent engine, ZDoom was created on March 6th, 1998, and has been getting consistent updates since, and GZDoom itself was released on August 30th, 2005.
Unfortunately, ZDoom‘s updates ended around 2017[1], but its fork, GZDoom, has still been receiving updates to this day.

- Custom monsters, ammo, weapons and more
- Support for more music types, such as MP3, OGG, and other formats

- Removing Doom’s limitations
