Joby Martin
[edit]Joby Martin is an American pastor, author, and speaker. He is the founder and lead pastor of The Church of Eleven22, a large non-denominational Christian church based in Jacksonville, Florida. Since its launch in 2012, the church has grown into a multi-site congregation and has been recognized among the fastest-growing churches in the United States.[1]
Early Life and Education
[edit]Martin was raised in South Carolina and grew up in a Catholic household. He began serving in church ministry during his teenage years, eventually pursuing a career in full-time ministry. He earned a Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.[2]
Ministry
[edit]Before founding The Church of Eleven22, Martin served in various church leadership roles, including as a youth pastor and as executive pastor at Beach Church in Jacksonville Beach, Florida.[2]
In September 2012, Martin launched The Church of Eleven22 in partnership with a core group of leaders. The church name originated from their initial service time at 11:22 a.m., inspired by Mark 11:22. The church’s mission is "to help people discover and deepen a relationship with Jesus Christ."[3]
Under Martin’s leadership, the church has grown to multiple campuses in Northeast Florida and South Georgia and maintains a strong emphasis on discipleship, church planting, and worship ministry.[1]
Publications
[edit]Martin is the author of several Christian books, including:
- If the Tomb Is Empty: Why the Resurrection Means Anything Is Possible (2022)
- Anything Is Possible (2023)
- Run Over by the Grace Train (2024)
- Stand Firm and Act Like Men (2025)[4]
His writings often focus on the resurrection of Jesus, the grace of God, and biblical manhood.
Podcasts
[edit]Martin hosts or co-hosts several podcasts:
- Deepen with Pastor Joby Martin – A weekly discussion diving deeper into the Sunday sermons at The Church of Eleven22.
- Built 4 More – A weekday devotional podcast for men, co-hosted with quarterback coach Denny Thompson, focused on biblical wisdom for leadership and life.
- The Daily Blade – A short-format daily devotional podcast hosted at TheDailyBlade.com, emphasizing Scripture reading and reflection.[5]
