Background
[edit]After getting into a nearly fatal car accident, A-F-R-O began developing Modest World in 2014.[2] A-F-R-O's long-time friend Pulse Reaction completely produced the streaming version. The title track was produced by Alex Nejera, and can only be found on SoundCloud.[3]
Critical reception
[edit]Modest World was well-received.
Passion of the Weiss says, "Over laid-back suites that clip to smooth saxophones and laconic loops from Buena Park producer Pulse Reaction, A-F-R-O delves into everything from suicide to a recent car crash that left him with eight broken ribs and two broken bones in his spine. Like most freestyles, they aren’t perfect. Still, they’re poignantly penned steps in the right direction."[2]
All tracks are written by James Gutierrez.
