Submission declined on 17 July 2025 by Doric Loon (talk). This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of music-related topics). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.

Comment: This needs to show why the subject is important in terms of Wikipedia's notability criteria. This needs to be documented in reliable sources. Also, the other points mentioned by previous reviewers need to be addressed. Simply resubmitting this without changing anything will not be successful. Doric Loon (talk) 19:36, 17 July 2025 (UTC)
Comment: Rather than placing a huge list of references at the end, you need to place the reference that supports the fact you're sourcing beside it. See Help:Referencing for beginners. Rambley (talk) 11:24, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
Comment: Please add references which is independent, reliable and secondary containing significant coverage. Fade258 (talk) 08:39, 29 June 2025 (UTC)

Odd Hugo is an Estonian band formed in 2012 in Tartu, Estonia. The group performs music that blends folk, rock, and blues, and has released two studio albums as of 2025. They have participated in multiple music festivals across Europe and have received national music awards and nominations in Estonia.
History
[edit]Formation and debut album (2012–2013)
[edit]Odd Hugo was formed by musicians Rando Kruus and Oliver Vare in 2012. Additional members joined later to complete the lineup. The band released its self-titled debut album, Odd Hugo, in 2013. The record was reviewed in local media, with Müürileht describing it as "charming in its contrast between sadness and playful gypsy-eyed performance".[1]
Pocket and subsequent activity (2015–present)
[edit]The group released their second album, Pocket, in 2015. According to a review in Müürileht, the album combined jazz, folk, and brass instrumentation, and was described as “hauntingly original”.[2] As of 2025, the track "Kissing in the Falling Rain" had become the group's most-streamed song on Spotify.
Odd Hugo has performed at a number of festivals in Estonia and abroad, including Tallinn Music Week, Positivus Festival, EUROPAVOX, Intsikurmu Festival, and Fusion Festival.[3][4]
Media and broadcasts
[edit]In 2014, Odd Hugo became the first Estonian band to perform on the Dutch radio program 3voor12.[5]
Musical style
[edit]The band’s sound incorporates elements of indie folk, post-rock, and baroque pop. Their instrumentation includes guitars, brass, woodwind, and synthesizers. Their musical style has drawn comparisons to acts such as Bon Iver, The National, and Sigur Rós.
