Touch, Tap, Play gave the game 3/5 stars, writing that its gameplay was novel but not amazing and calling its story a standard sci-fi RPG.^[2]

ClutchPoints gave the game a rating of 8/10, saying that the game featured good gameplay with a story full of gray areas.^[3] Clutchpoints further wrote that it follows a trend of gun-based gacha games having sad stories.^[3]

GamingCypher also rated the game 8/10, praising the gameplay and comparing it to Tom Clancy's The Division, while noting that some of the game's missions could be longer.^[4]

Snowbreak has been criticized for being targeted at the "male gaze", and one anonymous staffer called this criticism a "distraction" as reported by NicheGamer.^[5]
