GTI Racing is a racing video game developed by Prominence and Techland and published by Deep Silver and TopWare Interactive. It was released for Windows on March 10, 2006.

This title is Techland's second racing game, following Xpand Rally. It is licensed by Volkswagen, featuring 15 accurately modeled Volkswagen racing cars. The game includes seventy routes based across six distinct locations.[1]

Gameplay

[edit]

The game features arcade racing with full simulation elements, utilizing a realistic damage model, collision detection, and an interactive environment, as well as time spent in the garage fine-tuning the vehicle with branded parts. Useful upgrades and eye-catching body kits can be installed, taking advantage of the tuning scene.

The 70 stages, based on six configurations, offer varied gameplay, with regular races, time trials, endurance races, and drift competitions. Alongside championships, there's also a Baja and Legal mode. Most of the time is spent in career mode, competing in different locations, earning money and respect to buy new cars and ultimately become a champion. Up to four players can compete online or over a local network.

Based on the Chrome Engine, the game comes with a complete editing suite. You can design and import custom cars and apply paint jobs. Furthermore, modifications, tracks, and modes can be created and shared online.
