Han Chong-song (Korean: 한청송, born 1 January 2003) is a North Korean freestyle wrestler. He won the gold medal at the 2025 World Wrestling Championships.
Career
[edit]Han Chong-song won the silver medal in the men's freestyle 57 kg event at the 2022 Asian Games.[1][2]
At the 2025 Asian Wrestling Championships held in Amman, Jordan, he won the gold medal in the men's freestyle 57 kg final by defeating Iran’s Milad Valizadeh 8–1.[3]
He later competed at the 2025 World Wrestling Championships in Zagreb, Croatia, where he won the gold medal in the men's freestyle 57 kg category. In the qualification round, he defeated Darian Toi Cruz of Puerto Rico 8–0. In the round of 16, he beat Ecuador’s Guesseppe Rea Villarroel 10–0 by technical superiority. In the quarterfinals, he overcame Mexico’s Roman Bravo Young 4–3 to reach the semifinals. There, he defeated Armenia’s Arsen Harutyunyan by fall (4–1). In the final, Han claimed the gold medal with a 12–9 victory over Kyrgyzstan’s Bekzat Almaz Uulu.[4]
