Update the module of the Mongolian Republican Party
["Mongolian Republican Party"] = {abbrev = "MRP", color = "#392d77", shortname = "Republican Party",} Thank youu. Egzs (talk) 14:16, 12 September 2025 (UTC)
- Replaced {{edit template-protected}} with {{Edit extended-protected}}, as page Module:Political party/M has extended confirmed protection. —andrybak (talk) 22:52, 21 September 2025 (UTC)
Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. —andrybak (talk) 22:52, 21 September 2025 (UTC)
- The current color is purple, nothing like the official party color Source for color: https://ikon.mn/elections/2024/parties/56 —Egzs (talk) 04:20, 24 September 2025 (UTC)
- The party colour is listed as #392d77 in the article, but there doesn't seem any source for that (though I'm hampered by the fact that I can't read Mongolian). Probably someone used a colour picker on the party flag? If there isn't an officially stated party colour I think we're meant to use the default as stated by the documentation. Liu1126 (talk) 04:55, 27 September 2025 (UTC)
- I dont know where the current module came from but it is clearly nothing like the main color the party uses. Just take a look at their official facebook account or their 2024 election posters.

Not done: Violation of no original research. If the party states somewhere that their party color is that yellowish thing, then please ping me with a link to it. If it is just used in websites, this request is not going through. AlphaBetaGamma (Talk/report any mistakes here) 02:38, 30 September 2025 (UTC)
- wdym by yellow? i am referring to their campaign posters which uses dark purple-ish blue. the current module is just purple Egzs (talk) 10:48, 30 September 2025 (UTC)
Allow a party to have multiple colors over time
[edit]Wikipedia:Redirects_for_discussion/Log/2025_October_13#Liberal_Democrats_(UK,_2025) brought up the issue of a party which changed colors recently. Editors created the oddly formatted redirect Liberal Democrats (UK, 2025) to allow this template to show the old colors if Liberal Democrats (UK) was used and the new colors if the 2025 redirect was used. @Chessrat suggested that instead of this workaround we could update this template to take a year parameter. I'm not sure whether this works with the template but this rather than the RfD seems like the place to discuss that option. Rusalkii (talk) 21:48, 20 October 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks- if anyone has any better ideas I'd like to hear them.
- The only other example I know of a party which has changed its colour is Yamina- in that case editors have put the new colour into the template and just put the old colour code in manually where needed (#CAD93B), but this is not a feasible option for the Liberal Democrats given how many articles would need to be updated. Chessrat (talk, contributions) 22:20, 20 October 2025 (UTC)
- Bit out of my jurisdiction here, but would version number be better than year? Not so much to allow for the extremely highly unlikely scenario of more than one change in a year, but more pertinently in this case perhaps, to avoid the implication of an effective cut-off date of 1st January. That is how the LD change has been implemented so far, although the change was actually announced at their conference on 20 September 2025. Using a version number rather than year would avoid confusion if the change were implemented part way through a year. Presumably, the version number (or year if you like) would be an optional parameter and only used for the second and subsequent versions, so that its omission defaults to the original colour.
Also, for more on how and when to apply the change, see related talk topic Talk:Opinion polling for the next United Kingdom general election#Liberal Democrats Rebrand. 78.145.178.233 (talk) 07:32, 22 October 2025 (UTC)- With the way the module and its data are currently coded, the exact method ("year" or "version") doesn't really matter (I've though of at least two ways to do each) but it would be much easier to code by year; once you get past one or two changes, was the colour you wanted version 2? Version 3? Version 5? I'm not entirely convinced this is an issue that needs solving (though I do understand the concerns raised at the RFD) but from a purely technical perspective I don't see any issues with making this change. Primefac (talk) 22:26, 2 November 2025 (UTC)
- Chessrat, there are a ton of parties with colours across multiple years, see e.g. Module:Political_party/A#L-786. Primefac (talk) 22:26, 2 November 2025 (UTC)

Scottish and Welsh Liberal Democrats new party color not working
[edit]The party color templates for Scottish Liberal Democrats (2025) and Welsh Liberal Democrats (2025) have been added to Module:Political party/S and Module:Political party/W respectively with the same colour code #FF6400 as Liberal Democrats (UK, 2025). Something else is missing, though, because both still display the old colour #FAA61A. 2.101.245.0 (talk) 23:41, 21 October 2025 (UTC)
- I've sorted that out. Chessrat (talk, contributions) 00:06, 22 October 2025 (UTC)

Description of suggested change: For Latvia's Development isn't using #FFDD00 since the end of 2023. However, based on their webpage it appears that they use #f2f2f2, #000000, and #003399. Since yellow isn't used anymore, it might be better to change it to blue #003399, or maybe light gray #f2f2f2.

Update
Latvia's public broadcaster used just pure black #000000 during last municipal elections for this party.

Also their party statues states defines official colors in appendix to statues. Statutes: https://attistibai.lv/statuti/
