Um absolut sicher zu gehen, haben sich die Parteien SPD, CDU/CSU, FDP und die Grüne Blender Partei heimlich und zu einer Blockpartei zusammengeschlossen. South Korea

[edit]

Are they really bloc parties, these are just placeholder parties meant to trick the vote system and specifically do not ran in electoral bloc.

That's more its own thing which was used in Italy '07, Albania '05 and Lesotho '07. Braganza (talk) 15:41, 11 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@MogasTheThird: you should be involved in it i think, i know you call it "satellite party" but its different from a bloc party and should instead be in a "Decoy list" article Braganza (talk) 11:29, 13 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
They do act like decoy lists I must admit, however, most reliable sources refer to them as "satellite parties" or "bloc parties". I believe we should leave the South Korea section intact. If there are reliable sources that state the parties act as de facto decoy lists, I would support adding that information. MogasTheThird (talk) 12:59, 13 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
i would rather add "Not to be confused with" or "See also", since they are pretty much the opposite of the definition by the article (only because they share the name does not mean they have to be in the same article)
the article is very confusing in general, who would compare the CSU or Co-op party with communist puppet parties?
(the Korean article is even more confusing since they equate the Democratic Korea Party with the modern decoy lists) Braganza (talk) 15:57, 13 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, this should be moved to an article on decoy lists. Closed Limelike Curves (talk) 02:23, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Like i said above the article is confusing what a "bloc party" even is. Are these:

  1. mere puppet/pseudo-opposition parties which may or may not run with the governmening parties so called satellite parties (§ Bloc parties under Communist regimes; § Mexico; § Russia; § Turkmenistan; § Syria; § Uzbekistan | other examples not included: Ba'athist Iraq, Georgia, Arab-Israeli satellites)
  2. are these close allies who almost always run together (§ Australia; § Bulgaria; § Germany; § Hungary; § Portugal; § United Kingdom | other examples not included: Italy (CDX & CSX), France (UDC, ENS), Albania (ASHM), Your Macedonia/For a European Future)
  3. are these generally allied parties which do not run together (like decoy lists, vague blocs ect.) (§ Hong Kong; § New Zealand; § Scandinavian countries; § South Korea | other examples not included: SPD/Grüne vs. Union/FDP, National camp (Israel), maybe Portuguese AD?)

these are VERY different concepts which should be clearly distinguished and elaborated in the article or (my preferred option) to be split into different articles (we would have to discuss which of these 3 option should this article be about) Braganza (talk) 13:06, 10 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Articles related to
  1. include: Bloc party, Non-system opposition, Uniparty, Opposition (politics)
  2. include: Electoral alliance, Apparentment
  3. include: Apparentment, Cordon sanitaire (politics), de:Lagertheorie (Politik)#Deutschland, de:Bürgerliche Partei, Coalition government

I think the key issue here isn't to split, but to clearly write down and do the classification of the list inside the wiki article now what is and what is not a satellite party, and remove those examples that aren't. C933103 (talk) 21:39, 16 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@C933103 i would agree but the definition [1] which is there since the beginning defines it as "a political party that is a constituent member of an electoral bloc" and the (usual) meaning of a pseudo-opposition party is only secondary Braganza (talk) 11:15, 18 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
maybe we should move this definition to List of political groups by country Braganza (talk) 11:18, 18 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
