The contents of Mortgage repossession was merged into Foreclosure on 9 November 2024. The former page's history now serves to provide attribution for that content in the latter page, and it must not be deleted as long as the latter page exists. For the discussion at that location, see its talk page.
This is the talk page for discussing improvements to the Foreclosure article. This is not a forum for general discussion of the article's subject.

I propose merging Mortgage repossession into Foreclosure. The UK legal structure is already covered in the foreclosure article and the mortgage repossession seems to be a colloquial and as the article says incorrect term for a house repossession. The article has no references and does not follow WP:MOS so needs work but all the key points are already covered in the foreclosure article and so this can just be turned into a redirect. The information on which this merger proposal was based is incorrect.
The current page is incoherent.
Foreclosure and repossession are different. You don't get "granted" an "equity of redemption". And so on.
This is the case even in the USA. It still has a foreclosure process, as far as I know. It still exists in England, but if you start foreclosure proceedings they will just be stayed indefinitely and you will not be able to push them any further.
