US
[edit]Can we just omit the state lists for the US? Unclear methodology and main article more updated. Awbfiend (talk) 01:00, 3 August 2020 (UTC)
Proposed move
[edit]Suggest this be renamed to "Lists of law firms". It is mostly about other lists. Only some firms in some US states are actually listed, and those sub lists are of dubious usefulness. The country-level lists are more comprehensive and provide more useful information. Awbfiend (talk) 01:32, 3 August 2020 (UTC)
- I have moved this given no objection here or on wikiproject law talk but shout if you disagree. Awbfiend (talk) 08:19, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
Merge proposal

I figure all the individual lists aren't that notable by themselves, so they should be merged to this page. I'm worried that adding all that content to one page might be too long, but because they're not individually notable, some content would inevitably need to be scrapped to meet Wikipedia's standards. Specifically, a lot of the lists are attributed to a single source, which does not meet the requirements of WP:NLIST. LR.127 (talk) 17:31, 22 June 2025 (UTC)
- Support, to some extent. Many of these are redundant and could easily be subsumed into a single article. I don't know if they should be merged into a single list, though. -A-M-B-1996- (talk) 18:00, 26 September 2025 (UTC)

Sorry, but this is disruptive. e.ux 08:44, 3 October 2025 (UTC)
- Eva UX The nominator themselves said these lists aren't notable and don't meet Wikipedia's requirements. If at the very least half the lists only have a single source, then that's a deletion discussion, not a merger discussion. Besides, this discussion was started 3 months ago. And the participants didn't even manage to propose (let alone decide on) a target. Most merge discussions are closed way earlier.I have no idea what you mean when you say this was distruptive. - Merge by country All the US-based lists at least should be merged. Not sure if other countries' firms should be combined here though. Reywas92Talk 14:29, 3 October 2025 (UTC)
- God, I probably should have closed this before AfDing. I didn't expect a dormant discussion to suddenly come back to life once a discussion about the same exact pages started at another venue. I want to avoid this becoming a WP:MULTI. Reywas92, sorry for pinging you again, but would you agree with such a procedural close? FaviFake (talk) 14:35, 3 October 2025 (UTC)
- Sure, but I think people would rather see the AFDs closed as merge rather than deleted altogether. I agree they're not great articles, but there's no other list of law firms on WP and they should be listed somehow. Limiting them to the largest notable firms makes sense. — Reywas92Talk 14:58, 3 October 2025 (UTC)
- We'll see how this works out. For now I'll proceed with the procedural close; you may want to consider moving all [your] posts to AfD per WP:MULTI to avoid them being missed. I can do it myself if you would like me to. FaviFake (talk) 15:06, 3 October 2025 (UTC)
