This template generates a hatnote that tracks the status of a case at Wikipedia:WikiProject AI Cleanup/Noticeboard.

Usage

|status=, |cleanup_status=, or the first parameter can be used to toggle the status displayed by the hatnote.

To mark cleanup as requested: {{AIC status|requested}}

To mark cleanup as ongoing: {{AIC status|ongoing}}

To mark cleanup as unnecessary: {{AIC status|unnecessary}}

To mark cleanup as completed: {{AIC status|completed}}

Shorter aliases are available when adding the template using subst: by using the first letter of a status: {{subst:AIC status|r}} is equivalent to {{AIC status|cleanup_status=requested}}.

Use with a tracking subpage

|subpage=, |tracking_subpage=, or the second parameter can be used to specify a subpage where a list of articles to cleanup is located and tracked. The list of articles can be constructed and tracked with {{AIC article list}} and {{AIC article row}}.

The number of open issues is automatically detected when {{AIC article list}} is used, otherwise the number of issues can be manually specified with |count=, |pages_left_to_review=, or the third parameter.

Automatically detected count: {{AIC status|ongoing|subpage=article list}}

Manually specified count: {{AIC status|ongoing|subpage=bulleted list|count=4}}

A nonexistent subpage can be specified to request that it be created, an optional estimated count= may also be supplied.

Requesting creation: {{AIC status|requested|subpage=Eg}}

Requesting creation with count: {{AIC status|requested|subpage=Eg|count=50}}

Parameter names can be omitted when adding the template using subst:
{{subst:AIC status|o|Eg|200}} is equivalent to {{AIC status|cleanup_status=ongoing|tracking_subpage=Eg|pages_left_to_review=200}}.

Use with an in situ list

|articleN= and |statusN= allow the user to specify a bulleted list of articles to review in a collapsible box. The count of active issues is automatically computed. Up to 10 articles can be specified. Beyond that, a dedicated subpage should be used.

Valid article statuses are the same as valid case status: requested/r (alternatively, to do/td), ongoing/o, completed/c, and unnecessary/u.
