Template talk:Albania topics

Wrong name

[edit]

This template is named Albania topics and contains in its history section some events that happened centuries before Albania was created (at the beggining of 20th century). I propose to rename this template in order to correspond with its content.--Antidiskriminator (talk) 10:44, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, what Zeta has to do with Albania? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.94.110.78 (talk) 18:41, 6 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Geography subgroups

[edit]

Subgroups should be set up there. The prompts would become the subheadings.
It will look a lot cleaner and clearer. Varlaam (talk) 05:26, 26 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Add The Holocaust in Albania 2604:2000:E010:1100:A8:19B8:F5DF:6E27 (talk) 22:06, 19 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Where do you think it would be the right place to add this? Bes-ARTTalk 22:09, 19 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. In History/Independence, after the mention of German occupation. 2604:2000:E010:1100:E99E:F55E:232F:AFBA (talk) 00:55, 20 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
That is an article of Albania during the nazi occupation, such as others in that section and has nothing similar to this. You better find other templates because I dont see where we can fit this article in here Bes-ARTTalk 01:13, 20 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. But I dont understand. They are closely related. Both deal with aspects of the history of Albania during Nazi occupation during WWII - which fit within History/Independence. 2604:2000:E010:1100:E99E:F55E:232F:AFBA (talk) 01:21, 20 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Done Perfectly reasonable and appropriate request, with specific noteworthy historical issues not covered by other articles in the template subsection. Goldsztajn (talk) 12:40, 26 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Huge gap in the history section between the Illyrians and end of the middle ages (fall of Constantinople)

[edit]

The lands of Albania and the ancestors of the Albanian people were under the Republic and the Roman Empire for 15 centuries, everything is mentioned but the greatest historical period is not. Edit: my account is new so I can't add "Albania under the Byzantine Empire", someone who can should do it. Artiri95 (talk) 08:18, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

"Italian protectorate" in the "Independence" section is misleading:

Italys occupation of Albania in WW1 was not a protectorate and may be confused with "Union with Italian kingdom".

This is a legacy problem that I was able to track down to the fact that the content of "Italian protecorate over Albania" was moved to "Italian expeditionary corps in Albania (World War I)", but the page itself was turned into a redirect to "Treaties of Tirana", which covers the establishment of the Italian protectorate in the 1920s.

This lead to the current situation, where all links that were previously supposed to give more information on Italys occupation of Albania in WW1 now give unrelated information on Italys influence in Albania before WW2.

I suggest that "Italian protectorate" be replaced by "Italian expedition", linked to "Italian expeditionary corps in Albania (World War I)". Additionally, the Article "Treaties of Tirana" should be placed after "Vlora War". (Alternatively, it could be placed after "Albanian Republic") Tonuka (talk) 11:13, 8 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Further Information: Whether there was an official Italian protectorate of Albania (1917-1920) seems to be a controversial discussion. Nevertheless, the current links are misleading.
I would like to change my proposal just a bit: I suggest that "Italian protectorate" be replaced by "Italian expedition", instead linked to Italian Protectorate on southern Albania. That page is currently a redirect to Italian expeditionary corps in Albania (World War I), and thus is effectively the same as my previous proposal, but can be more easily redirected to another page if consensus changes in the future.
