[[File:Flag of Wales.svg|left|40px]] This article is supported by the Welsh television task force (marked as Top-importance).

The banner meta template doesn't work like that. I believe the correct thing to add would be
 |tf 2                  = {{{Welsh-television|}}}
  |TF_2_LINK            = Wikipedia:WikiProject Television/Welsh television task force
  |TF_2_NAME = the Welsh television task force
  |TF_2_IMAGE           = Flag of Wales.svg
  |TF_2_SIZE            = x20px
  |TF_2_QUALITY         = yes
  |tf 2 importance      = {{{Welsh-television-importance|}}}
  |TF_2_ASSESSMENT_CAT  = Welsh television articles
  |TF_2_MAIN_CAT = Welsh television task force articles
...
 |tf 2                  = {{{Welsh-television|}}}
  |TF_2_LINK            = Wikipedia:WikiProject Television/Welsh television task force
  |TF_2_NESTED          = Television game shows

The thing to do (see WP:TESTCASES) is make the desired changes at Template:WikiProject Television/sandbox, test them at Template:WikiProject Television/testcases, obtain consensus at WT:WikiProject Television and only then should you make the edit request here. If actioned (and only if), the template documentation can be updated accordingly. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 23:30, 23 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Description of suggested change: Please implement this version of the sandbox to remove the redlinked West Wing task force from the template. (Without renumbering, it could easily be readded if it were to be requested again in the future)

config

[edit]

@Gonnym: I've made a start with Template:WikiProject Television/config and you can see results at Template:WikiProject Television/sandbox — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 22:04, 19 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

What is the topic for? I don't see it used in the previous style of template code. Gonnym (talk) 22:16, 19 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It's like ASSESSMENT_CAT — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 22:21, 19 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, so if the category is task force name articles, then the topic is task force name? Also how do I set the |mcu-dyk= and its category Marvel Cinematic Universe Did you know articles in the config? And how do I set custom image sizes for task force images? Gonnym (talk) 22:44, 19 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yes that is correct. I've added the task force sizes. I don't have any way of doing mcu-dyk yet — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 12:49, 20 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
mcu-dyk implemented here — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 21:04, 20 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not a fan of this. Please don't do this. Parameter names need to be readable and theamazingraceimportance is not readable. Gonnym (talk) 10:11, 21 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
My idea is that parameter names be normalised by converting to lowercase and stripping of spaces and punctuation, but I can achieve this in a different way. For example it should not matter if someone uses |The-Amazing-Grace= or |the amazing grace= or |THE_AMAZING_GRACE= - all will work correctly — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 10:26, 21 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure that is also good for readability. While the 3 examples you gave are fine, |tHe_aMaZINg_GrACE= isn't and shouldn't be allowed. Gonnym (talk) 10:38, 21 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I can't support some of these without allowing all of them — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 21:58, 21 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Then don't support them. This wasn't a feature someone requested and we were fine with one standard version. Gonnym (talk) 07:42, 22 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
At Template:WikiProject Television/sandbox#Basic usage you can see there is a bug in the code somewhere with a |yes= parameter being shown. Gonnym (talk) 10:13, 21 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I have not even looked at the auto doc yet, so not surprised it's not working yet — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 10:26, 21 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Think I've fixed that now. Just the topic fields to define and that should be everything — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 23:05, 21 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I've deployed this. Please let me know if you spot anything wrong — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 21:57, 25 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Looks good so far from my short look. I'll let you know if I encounter anything. Gonnym (talk) 01:37, 26 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@MSGJ ok, so mcu-dyk does not appear in the /doc. Also, "Marvel Cinematic Universe articles that need a response section" is not mentioned in the /doc nor how it is set. Gonnym (talk) 01:40, 26 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
