I've been online since the early 1980's, starting with BBS' and BITNET before the Internet became a thing. I am currently employed by the Internet Society (ISOC) as Senior Director, Online Trust and Safety, working on a project to help promote resources that help people have a safe and secure experience online. I also engage with the broader Internet technical community, and continue to monitor low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites for Internet access (ex. Starlink, OneWeb). (NOTE: I do not edit the Internet Society's article on Wikipedia due to WP:COI.)
If you want to say hello, I occasionally stream editing of Wikipedia live on Twitch (danyork324). I no longer have a specific schedule as I did during the pandemic.
Topics of interest:
Pretty much anything about the Internet, particularly its infrastructure.
