NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series pages

[edit]

hey there, for NASCAR O'Reilly Parts Series races, we should do the full track name (EchoPark Speedway, Talladega Superspeedway, etc) Brycenrichter (talk) 22:40, 5 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @45BearsFan, in my opinion, the results of championship races (2004-2025) at Phoenix/Homestead (Cup, Xfinity and Truck) should not be removed from NASCAR Cup Series at Phoenix Raceway and Homestead races articles because in the end, it is still a Cup/Xfinity/Truck race at Phoenix/Homestead and for NASCAR statistics notes it's still counts as a Cup/Xfinity/Truck race at Phoenix/Homestead. And also for a non-NASCAR fan, they will think for example that the 2nd Cup Series race at Phoenix stopped being held after 2019, which is obviously not the case. So in my opinion the result of the races should be listed in Cup/Xfinity/Trucks articles, even though they are the Championship Race (so just add a note to specify that they were the Championship races). I get the championship race get it's own article but I think removing the results from the articles and adding them only to the "Championship race" page is creating unnecessary confusion in my opinion. So I will add them back to Cup/Xfinity/Truck articles of Homestead and Phoenix articles. Some results will be duplicated with the Championship races articles, but I think this will avoid confusion and make it easier for the casual reader (non-NASCAR fan). If, for example, the final race were to be held at a different track rotation each year, we would have to adjust the results in 20 different articles from each series. Therefore, I am in favor of keeping the results on the original articles (and also adding them to the Championship races articles). We can add a link to the races at Phoenix and Homestead in the Championship races articles, and vice versa, to make it easier for readers who want to know more about each one.

Regarding the article "Template:2026 NASCAR Trucks," I think it should be redirected to "Template:2026 NASCAR Trucks Series" to maintain consistency with other articles from other years. Furthermore, it shows that it's a redirect to the Truck Series, because "NASCAR Trucks" is too generic; it could refer to a NASCAR safety truck, the NASCAR Mexico Truck Series, or whatever. The same applies to the Cup and Xfinity/O'Reilly series. Thanks, Luks25 (talk) 14:38, 11 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Luks25 thanks for bringing that up, if im being totally honest with you, idk how we're even going to be doing this. sure it's good to get ones perspective of how we set up the finale, but i kinda like how the finale article's are set up. I like what you're doing tbh, just copying all the finale stuff over to the second date/miami to the respective article, with us possibly marking an astrisk to identify it as the finale.
as for the template, that's how it's always been iirc, it's always been "2024 nascar cup", but we could start adding series to it. 45BearsFan (talk) 16:17, 11 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
and fwiw, the championship race is still "cup race at phoenix/miami" 45BearsFan (talk) 16:27, 11 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@45BearsFan Thank you for adding some results back, they were that way before Championship race was created/moved, i think it become easier for non-NASCAR fans who are ocasionally searching about a track-specific race results, even though they were held as a Championship race. I think it is better this way so we can note what races were Championship races and makes a link to championship race for who wants to read it and vice versa like you did.
I just searched it and the template Cup usually does not have the series at the end, I just searched the 2025 one and the all trucks series and all of them have the series at the end. So i think for Cup we don't need to add the Series at the end but for Busch/Nationwide/Xfinity/O'Reilly and Trucks i think we need to add the Series because most of them already have series at the end and makes it different from other information and specify that it refers to the Series itself. Thanks Luks25 (talk) 14:19, 14 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
