Would you help on "Yokohama" and people?

[edit]

Hello, my name is Omotecho, and I realized you have created an item for a person named Clara Denison Loomis a few years back.

Happy to bring you the news that that person now has an article on ja wikipedia (jawp), during an editathon running till 24 November, 2025. Yes, that wikidata item is deeply connected with Yokohama, a city, and those missionary visiting across the Pacific, and had expanded the horizon to Japanese youth.

Now, the may I ask how you have reached bibliographic references maybe from toolforge snd Clara Denison Loomis please?

In other words, I wish to consult you on how you found the first clue to start that wikidata item. On the following, if the subject suits anywhere else, I'd appreciate if you could guide me where you wish to continue conversation about it:

  • That channel I wish will support a few more articles on missionaries / educators during 1860s-1945 in Yokohama. My peer editors on jawp are trying hard to fulfill the verifiability,or myself still trying to prepare drafts;
  • more educators are listed as yet to have bibliography on jawp, as related to Yokohama and its education [1]; and
  • Of course I wish to add those people to enwp and wikidata, too.biographies

Actually, the references on C. D. Loomis to jawp should be the key, though I am afraid those journal/book entries do not have OCLC ID or any universal link/property.

FYI, the parent event for our editathon is a industry showcase for librarians, which takes place in Yokohama, so we decided to expand any Yokohama-related topic on jawp. More editors from our peer East Asia β€’ South-east Asia β€’ Pacific Hubs are noted to join as well. Again, thank you indeed to start Q113288321, it made us realize the Wikimedia way of discovering things. (= Cheers, --Omotecho (talk) 07:45, 28 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
