Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Ruud Buitelaar was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
Fails WP:NPOL. Article does not show significant coverage WP:SIGCOV in multiple independent sources.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Your submission at Articles for creation: Club de la Unión (February 11)

[edit]
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by ChrysGalley was:
Your draft shows signs of having been generated by a large language model, such as ChatGPT. Wikipedia guidelines prohibit the use of LLMs to write articles from scratch. In addition, LLM-generated articles usually have multiple quality issues, to include:
Please address these issues. The best way is usually to read reliable sources and summarize them, instead of using a large language model. See our help page on large language models.
The comment the reviewer left was:
The sources do not match the text, for example source 2 does not mention politicians, diplomats, intellectuals, and entrepreneurs. This is why we can't allow article written by LLM, the policy is WP:LLM. It would be good to have an article on this club, it appears to be notable, and there are sources available, particularly if the library is included.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit it after they have been resolved.

Thank you for the feedback and you are absolutely right, I used it as a base but edited sources and verified manually, also added relevant info such as buildings and some individuals I saw listed as prominent members to help explain more. It's a very rich institution so much more to add hope the rest of the community can contribute too. Sources are correctly added and yes much to add on the library itself Daiv373 (talk) 11:42, 12 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@Daiv373 - thanks for improving the draft. And the approach of doing a shorter article first and expanding later is also a good way forward. Spanish wikipedia has a substantial article on the library, as I am sure you are aware. The three problems with the article now are that
a) Source five, the club's history page simply does not say that diplomats etc used to be members. That's an LLM fabrication, and we can't allow that.
b) Some language is promotional - as an encyclopedia we tend to be quite boring in our choice of words. That is easy to fix.
c) Also the list of notable members - Wikipedia isn't a directory. My suggestion there would be to restrict it just to those people who already have Wikipedia entries, I think that is 6 men; plus if any other names really should get an entry in Wikipedia one day (though I didn't see any other names). Where did you get this list of names from? Since it isn't sourced and some are still alive, we have particular policies on verification there.
If you wish, I can edit the article for you, but you may prefer to do it. ChrysGalley (talk) 13:32, 12 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Well source 5 if you click on it lower on the page says "socios del club la Union" then says the quote by Carlos Alberto Arroyo and lists him as a member of the club and past Ecuadorian President, if you slide it does the same for Otto Arosemena, and recently Guillermo Lasso. As for the rest of the members it was off the book with the history of the club by Jose Gomez Iturralde it has major members and founding members, I noted the munipa article also used it some of the tome by Ezzio Garay on Guayaquil's historical society. That source is available on scribd. I'll make a quick edit to address those issues, but I would appreciate your help in refining it and preparing it for publication if you have the time.
