Many thanks for your comments on the "Vinland" debate.
[edit]Thank you for commenting on that other page. I can see how it may appear I was out of line, but I was just "speaking" my mind"... in a 100% civil way to those who were civil with me. There are major misunderstandings in motion that cloud the Vinland debate. The opponents I faced there are on the over-confident side about many things, like the "debate" over the proper translation of "Vinland." There is really no debate about that at all anymore. "Vinland" can only be translated as "Wineland," but the Vinland article gives undue recognition to the "Pastureland" notion. The article should report that debate is over with, and "Pastureland" has been rejected many times by academics today. Rockawaypoint (talk) 21:13, 4 May 2025 (UTC)

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
