You may be wondering why my archives only start at August 2007. The reason: I didn't archive my pages before that date, I merely deleted them (as I didn't know how to archive). Therefore, if anyone wishes to see material before August 2007? check out this talkpage's 'history'.

Hi GoodDay! I think that the article Template: Arizona Coyotes roster should be taken for a second redirect for discussion. The Utah Roster has changed a bunch since, and also, I couldn't clearly understand (In my POV) whether users were stating their support or opposition for people were stating their support or opposition for changing the target. So could you please help break each response down? To me it looked like opposition, but I might not understand each users stance. So could you please read clearly and help me understand their opinion? And help me with how to take it for redirect for discussion please? Thank you Servite et contribuere (talk) 20:30, 5 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Servite et contribuere:, I'd recommend the template for deletion, now. GoodDay (talk) 20:45, 5 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
OK. I might just make a backup template of their most recent roster, whether that is putting on my user page just in case the team does fold. Also, how do I do that? Servite et contribuere (talk) 20:48, 5 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Note, there's no roster templates for the Nordiques, Thrashers, North Stars, original Jets, Whalers, etc. GoodDay (talk) 20:51, 5 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Of course there isn't😂. Those teams stopped existing before Wikipedia was even a thing. But there is one for the Thrashers redirecting to Winnipeg, so if anyone wants the final Thrashers roster, it is possible Servite et contribuere (talk) 20:54, 5 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thrashers roster template, should also be deleted. GoodDay (talk) 20:55, 5 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
OK. But I will put a backup nonetheless Servite et contribuere (talk) 20:57, 5 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I've opened up a discussion about this matter. GoodDay (talk) 20:58, 5 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @GoodDay. I'm going to look at the discussion. I personally believe the redirect target should be re discussed for discussing a deletion. Only one user made their opinion clear on whether it should redirect to the Utah Roster. I think it should be a Two Part discussion Servite et contribuere (talk) 09:36, 14 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Cool. GoodDay (talk) 14:26, 14 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I might need help how to do both (In terms of what buttons to press). I am currently making a bunch of edits to avoid redirects to a former name. No not in (Ice) Hockey Servite et contribuere (talk) 19:43, 14 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I not certain how to start a Template deletion. GoodDay (talk) 19:46, 14 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Oh. Do you know at least how to start a discussion? Servite et contribuere (talk) 20:03, 14 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I believe @Alaney2k: has or had nominated the template for deletion. GoodDay (talk) 20:08, 14 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Ppery has declined the request for speedy deletion Servite et contribuere (talk) 21:51, 14 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
That stinks. GoodDay (talk) 22:27, 14 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, It was declined by Pppery. Not Ppery Servite et contribuere (talk) 01:16, 15 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Also, GoodDay, the Cleveland Barons (NHL) should be titled Cleveland Barons, except that I missed a vote to vote in favor of a name change, and break a tie😬. I guess these things happen. Oh well, definitely not going to go change the discussion Servite et contribuere (talk) 22:09, 22 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi again GoodDay! It is currently 4:30AM where I am in Australia, and I have have been unwell so I will try to get some sleep; thus if you reply I might not reply for some time. Anyways, onto the main point I came to talk about, I have listed the Arizona Coyotes template on my new To do list. That is that by no later than the NHL entry draft, definitely no later than the next NHL season, I will take the Reidrect to be re discussed. The Utah roster has changed significantly since they inherited the Coyotes roster. I know you are suggesting deletion, but honestly, let's wait until the team officially folds and we can discuss. Thank you Servite et contribuere (talk) 17:37, 16 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Cool. GoodDay (talk) 17:41, 16 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

GoodDay At the end of last year, I actually removed the redirect. I later didn't understand the meaning of the consensus. Basically one vote is all it takes, and I think that reason they argued for changing target is outdated. At start, the roster was the same, almost one year later, it is a lot different Servite et contribuere (talk) 17:44, 16 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

When will Carney be sworn in?

[edit]

Do you know what time will prime minister-designate Mark Carney be sworn in? i did research everywhere but couldn't find what time he would get inaugurated so that's basically why i made the edit stating that Justin Trudeau was no longer the prime-minister, bc i didn't know the time i just know that it will be in the morning but i live in Spain so the timezones are different
Anyway That's All. MalborkHistorian (talk) 11:02, 14 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Correct use of possessive ('s)

[edit]

@GoodDay: I saw that you once corrected my edit in the "2025 papal conclave" article regarding the use of 's after Francis's name. While I appreciate your correction, MOS:POSS states that all possessive of singular nouns, including proper names and words ending in s, should use 's. Thank you. RyanW1995 (talk) 05:26, 27 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I've learned that "s's" is wrong. But, so be it. GoodDay (talk) 05:27, 27 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Don't worry! Some style guides regarding the correct use of English might suggest that the use of 's for nouns and proper names ending in s to be wrong. Based on your comment, you might even follow this guide! However, this wiki has its own style guide, the Wikipedia:Manual of Style (WP:MOS). It states that all possessive of singular nouns, including proper names and words ending in s, should use 's. Again, I don't say that you are wrong. In fact, neither of us are wrong. We are just following different guides and rules. Thank you. RyanW1995 (talk) 05:41, 27 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Reverted your edit to Election Template

[edit]

Hi there,

I have reverted your edit to the election template while the recounts are still going on. Official count at this moment from Elections Canada is 169 / 144 / 22 / 7 so any numbers different from that will need to identify a specific source (or we could just wait until they update).

Canadianpoliticaljunkie (talk) 17:33, 10 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Canadianpoliticaljunkie: there's inconsistencies across all related pages. GoodDay (talk) 00:42, 11 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Update - Terrebonne just flipped again after recount (by ONE vote LOL). Maybe we should stick with one specific source and use that until official official results are out? Canadianpoliticaljunkie (talk) 00:45, 11 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
As long as all related pages are consistent. GoodDay (talk) 00:45, 11 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Age

[edit]

Hello GoodDay, it's been a while. I hope you are well! For future reference, please see the edit I just made at Dave Snowden's page. MidnightBlue (Talk) 22:41, 7 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it's been awhile. Hope you're also well. GoodDay (talk) 09:11, 15 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Purely cosmetic edits

[edit]

I would think that replacing the HTML code for the en dash with an actual en dash character would be considered purely cosmetic, per WP:COSMETIC (Cosmetic edit: An edit that has no effect on how a page is actually structured or how it appears (visually or aurally) to readers—that is, changes that are only apparent to editors looking at the wikitext.). See also WP:COSMETICBOT. It's OK by me, but some editors get annoyed by seeing such things in their watchlists. Dicklyon (talk) 05:16, 15 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed they're are cosmetic. GoodDay (talk) 09:12, 15 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You said that, but you're still making those cosmetic edits at multiple articles. Can you please change your editing practice to resolve the issue? You could bundle those edits with non-cosmetic improvements, or you could stop making them entirely. Firefangledfeathers (talk / contribs) 12:50, 15 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Whatever you want. GoodDay (talk) 19:06, 15 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You did something you said you wouldn't do

[edit]

I had a vague memory that triggered while reading through the ongoing JK Rowling RfC, so I went back and checked. As part of your successful appeal of your GENSEX TBAN last year, an editor was concerned that you would rejoin the topic area with "short, terse, and at best tangentially related borderline forum style comments". In response, you stated that you weren't interested in joining any "(potentially) heated discussions" in the topic area, and you specifically mentioned avoid JK Rowling discussions. But now you've made a tangentially related short comment at a heated JK Rowling RfC. The appeal was granted as a "second chance", so it's deeply concerning to me that you're returning to old problematic conduct in this area and breaking promises you made in your appeal. Firefangledfeathers (talk / contribs) 12:50, 15 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Firefangledfeathers:, I'll withdraw from the RFC, without giving a reason why. GoodDay (talk) 19:00, 15 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
