LongeviQuest AfD

[edit]

Hey,

I am truly heartbroken that you were so insistant on getting the article deleted only a year into its creation. I had a long-term vision to make it a great article. I have created over 100 articles, and this is the first time any of them has been deleted. Random obscure organizations don't get cited in multiple major news outlets, so I felt it met the minimum standard for the time being. Even if you disagree with that, why was there such a need to get it deleted? What was the benefit on your part? I get that some editors enjoy taking part in nomination after nomination, but please remember that there are real people behind these Wikipedia accounts who put time and effort into these articles. It is sad and discouraging, but I guess you see it as just another "win" in the AfD battle. This kind of ruined my day. OscarL 14:56, 8 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @OscarLake, first of all, I empathize in feeling frustrated when articles that I have put work into have not made it to mainspace. I had an article rejected for not being notable here, and I've abandoned drafts when I found that an article already existed.
Regarding the LongeviQuest AfD, I was reviewing the article as part of WP:New Pages Patrol and I volunteered in the most recent backlog drive. While reviewing pages, I did my best to assess whether pages met the WP:Notability standard, and I nominated a number of pages for deletion. I did this with the goal of building a better Wikipedia, and I harbor no ill will towards you. You and I disagreed on whether the page was notable. Ultimately, it was the decision of the community and the closing admin.
I see that you've made many articles and I hope you continue to contribute to Wikipedia. I am trying my best. —🌊PacificDepths (talk) 07:04, 2 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure why you choose to reply now, when two months have passed already. What's done is done, it's in the past now. If you feel that Wikipedia has become better since the desired deletion in October, then more power to ya. I don't have much else to say here. OscarL 01:19, 3 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

NPP drive

[edit]

Hi PacificDepths, I have removed your name from the NPP backlog drive as you do not have the patroller user right. You can request this right at WP:PERM/NPP if you feel like you meet the criteria. HurricaneZetaC 21:21, 29 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

New page reviewer granted

[edit]

Hi PacificDepths, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the new page reviewer user right to your account. This means you now have access to the page curation tools and can start patrolling pages from the new pages feed. If you asked for this at requests for permissions, please check back there to see if your access is time-limited or if there are other comments.

This is a good time to re-acquaint yourself with the guidance at Wikipedia:New pages patrol. Before you get started, please take the time to:

You can find a list of other useful links and tools for patrollers at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Resources. If you are ever unsure what to do, ask your fellow patrollers or just leave the page for someone else to review – you're not alone! Sohom (talk) 06:03, 30 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Spencer Cobb

[edit]

On 8 January 2026, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Spencer Cobb, which you recently nominated. The fact was ... that Spencer Cobb was a Kentucky senator for three and a half hours? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Spencer Cobb. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Spencer Cobb), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to nominate it.

Airport destination lists sourcing RfC

[edit]

Hi there,

I'm leaving this message because you contributed to the recent RfC regarding the inclusion of airport destination lists. As promised, now that that RfC has closed, I've initiated a further discussion about the sourcing standards to be applied to these lists.

If you wish to contribute to the discussion, please do so at Wikipedia:Village pump (policy)#Airport destination lists - sourcing requirements.

Cheers! Danners430 tweaks made 15:35, 19 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
