Elsie Inglis
[edit]I've created Statue of Elsie Inglis from your edits on her article. Such wonderful work detailing the complex history before the approval! No Swan So Fine (talk) 15:03, 2 October 2025 (UTC)
- @No Swan So Fine I wonder what led me there? Probably a mention on Radio 4 news or Woman's Hour! (When I start a new article I make a note of why, on the list on my talkpage, but this was just adding to a well-established article). Glad you found it useful! PamD 17:19, 2 October 2025 (UTC)
- You have quite the well developed article antenna! I periodically put 'statue' into Google News which led me to create Inglis, Cherry Groce Memorial Pavilion, Britten as a Boy and Statue of Jane Austen all in the last two days. No Swan So Fine (talk) 17:40, 2 October 2025 (UTC)
Nancy Poore
[edit]Hello PamD. Me again. I left a message on Ipigott's page to say that I had just worked on a little start page at User:Balance person/Nancy Poore. I wondered if he could see if it works or not. But I think maybe he is very busy as I haven't heard. So I am wondering, as you sometimes look at talk pages, if you might take a look? If it works, then I will move it and add categories etc. No hurry from my side. It's only a shortie. Thanks if you can. Balance person (talk) 16:33, 3 October 2025 (UTC)
- @Balance person She sounds an interesting person: can you find an image of one of the cards, I wonder?
- Not sure about the WiR parallel, but if you are going to mention it then link to Women in Red
- You don't give her nationality or geog context in the lead. It's not an American encyclopedia but international
- Remember not to use curly quotes, nor ordinal numbers (7th etc), and 1960s etc are written without an apostrophe (see MOS:NUM)
- Although all-numeric dates are acceptable for "access-date", I think dates with spelled-out months are preferred for the actual date of the ref.
- That's a few suggestions, anyway. Otherwise looks good, go for it. PamD 19:06, 3 October 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks very much for your helpful comments. I will put your suggestions into practice tomorrow. Thanks! Balance person (talk) 20:16, 3 October 2025 (UTC)
- Okay, I think I have done it! Balance person (talk) 08:45, 4 October 2025 (UTC)
Early life edit
[edit]Thanks for you edits on page JP. Hear you on mathematics degree but to be sure, 0.2 per cent of the nation in one year will get 9 GCSE's let alone with A to A* it is considered rare (you included). Math does not mean they did Chemistry, Biology, Physics predominately male subjects. This information is also listed on a lot of artists pages I follow as well as this one, as interest and exceptional eg Pete Doherty It has been cited by Academia which wiki states it considers reliable as it is checked by the universities/peer checked—if it appear on the Academia.edu site it has "undergone peer assessment. Consequently, the work/page is citable, reliable, and trustworthy, with customers being able to quote it" Leave that with you, either way now you have fixed the issue to be neutral can the page be restored without the banner on top? Thanks if you can.
. Gray1966 (talk) 17:08, 3 October 2025 (UTC)
- @Gray1966 It would be helpful if you could clarify on your talk page whether or not you have a conflict of interest, as described there, in relation to JP, and whether or not you are editing for pay or as part of paid employment. You have not shown any interest in other articles in the encyclopedia, and this is sometimes a characteristic of an editor who has such a conflict. PamD 19:56, 3 October 2025 (UTC)
- Checking out this now on the talk page thank you Gray1966 (talk) 01:30, 4 October 2025 (UTC)
Issues with my page
[edit]Hello Pam,
This is JP the subject of the page you helped with. I have posted on my own talk page as the subject of the page. I am alerted to this issue and informed to create an account and request edits. From my POV my page is under pressure without acknowledgment of facts and sources, this reflects negatively on me and credibility. They now want to delete this page. I would appreciate any time you have if you can fix this efficiently.
Thank you.
