    re-adding the old RFC tag. If for some reason you absolutely insist on listing this as a RFC, generate a new RFCID.—S Marshall T/C

    @S Marshall: Sure, will do. Some1 (talk) 00:20, 19 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
    Thank you. That's cleaner. I'm intrigued: why do you insist on this being an RFC?—S Marshall T/C 00:24, 19 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
    Having it listed on WP:RFC/All will increase the amount of comments the discussion gets. Some1 (talk) 00:30, 19 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
    Ok, as you wish. In my experience it usually does increase the number of comments but decreases their average quality.
    I hope that in future we'll be able to generate a searchable index of closed and current RFCs, and to facilitate that, I'm trying to keep it to one question per RFCID and one RFCID per question.—S Marshall T/C 00:40, 19 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
    To me, an increase in the number of comments gives us a better view of what the "consensus" actually is, since we're requesting input from the "broader community" and not just from those who have the article watchlisted. Regarding RFCIDs, I guess I don't really pay attention to them since I don't close RfCs. Some1 (talk) 01:10, 19 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

    Question about removing the Statistics Canada and Australian Census ranges from the Gen Alpha and Beta articles

    [edit]

    Hey there, Some1. I wanted to ask you for your opinion on the census ranges that are found on the Alpha and Beta articles : the “2011–2021” and “2013–2021” ranges. It appears to me that the only reason the ranges end at 2021 is because that was when both census were taken. The Canadian and Australian governments both are about to do a brand new census this 2026 year,and most likey are going to change the ranges. I think that how they are currently suck (the 2021 end dates) and both confusing and irrelevant for readers, when the McCrindle, Jean Twenge, and Pew ranges are more heavily cited. However, I may be wrong with this assessment. Also, I’m probably going to be away for awhile on vacation, and may make the edits in a couple of months from now, lol. ChicagoGirlD (talk) 07:44, 12 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

    Hi ChicagoGirlD, I haven't looked too closely at the Gen Alpha and Beta date ranges, but they should be attributed to Statistics Canada and the Australian Census if that's where those ranges come from. Have a great vacation! Some1 (talk) 12:48, 12 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

    Airport destination lists sourcing RfC

    [edit]

    Hi there,

    I'm leaving this message because you contributed to the recent RfC regarding the inclusion of airport destination lists. As promised, now that that RfC has closed, I've initiated a further discussion about the sourcing standards to be applied to these lists.

    If you wish to contribute to the discussion, please do so at Wikipedia:Village pump (policy)#Airport destination lists - sourcing requirements.

    Cheers! Danners430 tweaks made 15:40, 19 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
