Hockessin Friends Meeting

- While the word Hockessin does look like a Native American word, the name Hockessin did not show up on any early maps until many years after the Hockessin Meeting House was built and what is now the Village of Hockessin was never settled by the Native Americans, while they did have a hunting camp nearby.[1] There was no town name Hockessin and the area was referred to as Mill Creek Hundred. The actual name is believed to be derived from one of the first settled properties which was named Occasion and settled by William Cox in 1726 and also the location of the first Quaker meetings in the area before Hockessin Meeting House was built a few years later. The earliest known use of the word Occasion was in 1734 in a property deed for this property. And the road to the Hockessin Meeting House, currently Old Wilmington Road, was written as Ockession Road on a map in 1808.[2]

Request for Feedback on Draft: Pandit Lalaram Bajpai
[edit]Hello SunDawn,
I hope you are doing well. I noticed that my draft Draft: Pandit Lalaram Bajpai was declined on 16 October 2025. I did not receive a personal message or email explaining the specific reasons for the decline.
I would greatly appreciate it if you could provide me with some guidance on what issues led to the decision, so I can address them and improve the draft for future submission. I have made efforts to follow all previous suggestions, including writing the article in English, verifying references, and confirming photograph permissions.
Thank you very much for your time and support.

Regarding the declined draft: Pandit Lalaram Bajpai
[edit]Hello SunDawn, Thank you for reviewing my draft Draft:Pandit Lalaram Bajpai.
I’ve made multiple revisions to ensure the article follows Wikipedia’s guidelines — it’s now entirely in English, all citations are verified from regional news outlets (Amar Ujala, Naidunia, Khaskhabar, RaviVardelhi, Central Chronicle), and I’ve also cited the 2020 book Bundelkhand ka Svatantrata Sangarsha which documents his role in India’s freedom struggle.
My main difficulty is that my grandfather lived in a rural area and his contributions weren’t widely documented online, making it hard to find digital secondary sources. Still, he served as the Prime Minister of Orchha State and Home Minister of Vindhya Pradesh, and I wish to preserve this history accurately.
Could you please guide me on how to make this draft acceptable for publication, or suggest any reliable ways to strengthen its notability?
Warm regards, Priyanka Dwivedi (PageSeeker) PageSeeker (talk) 19:47, 17 October 2025 (UTC)
- I think the article could be passed soon. Just few minor problems: This link from Khaskabar and this bhaskar link can't be verified. The Khaskabar article give me a "no page found" and the bhaskar link didn't provide to a news article. If that can be fixed you can re-submit the article and I think I can get it approved. Have a good day! ✠ SunDawn ✠ Contact me! 01:22, 18 October 2025 (UTC)
