I opened a peer review for Valence populism while you were away. I received feedback from two users, but knowing that you're a polsci and have experience in writing similar articles, I would appreciate if you could leave some helpful comments on the article's talk page. I intend to nominate it for FAC. Vacant0 (talkcontribs) 14:12, 10 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from MIKER84 (17:28, 18 November 2025)

[edit]
Note: MIKER84's mentor Nick Moyes is away.

How do I edit the main page title for World Rugby Nations Championship as it is incorrect information and "World Rugby" needs to be removed? Thanks --MIKER84 (talk) 17:28, 18 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello MIKER84, it looks like you're trying to remove it without explaining why. If there's a disagreement on what should go in the article, then you can open a discussion on the article's talk page where you can explain what change you think should be made and provide reliable sources as evidence that this change is correct. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 🛸 19:01, 18 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I work for Six Nations Rugby, which is the competition owner alongside SANZAAR, and it is false that World Rugby owns or runs this new Nations Championship, which is causing us lots of issues in the media and commercially. World Rugby are running the second-tier competition as mentioned in this article. ~2025-34449-03 (talk) 09:27, 19 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Curious about your edits to YG article

[edit]

Hi,

I was wondering if you could provide reasoning for these edits you make to YG (the rapper)'s page.

Your edit comment states that you are "mov[ing] controversy into the correct place chronologically" even though the song was released in 2014 and the controversy brewed for several years and occurred in 2021, which makes it hard to pinpoint "chronological" accuracy. Since this paragraph discusses public backlash over perceived racist lyrics, this controversy paragraph is also markedly different from the standard Career material of album releases, song releases, label information, and other items directly pertinent to his music career, so it seems out of place to place it in his Career section. Besides, there is nothing wrong with having a Controversy section in a BLP as far as I know. Plenty of rappers' pages have Controversy sections over things that they've said/done.

Your edit comment states that you want to "avoid segregating negative content". Please do expound on what you mean by that, why that is important for an online encyclopedia, and if there are any WP policies that support your mission here. Again, plenty of BLP's have legal issues sections. I'm not sure what the exact policy regarding specific sections in a BLP is, but I count that YG has at least 6 known legal issues occurring over 2012-2024, which seems significant enough to have its own section rather than just being chucked in the Personal Life section.

I think it would be helpful for me to understand your motivations with these edits here, thanks. Wikipedious1 (talk) 00:26, 22 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedious1, to answer your question:
  • WP:STRUCTURE warns against segregating content by whether it's negative or positive.
  • WP:BLPBALANCE warns against collecting negative content in articles about living people.
  • WP:BALASP warns against detailed focus on isolated events and criticisms.
If there are many rappers with controversy sections in their articles, then there is a serious problem with the topic area in terms of its compliance with BLP and NPOV. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 🛸 00:45, 22 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the response Thebiguglyalien, I do have some confusion in several areas.
  • The content of WP:STRUCTURE does not seem to support what you are claiming. As far as I can see, nowhere in the explanation of STRUCTURE is it claimed that "negative or positive" content should not be "segregated". "Segregation" is discussed in this context: Segregation of text or other content into different regions or subsections, based solely on the apparent POV of the content itself, may result in an unencyclopedic structure, such as a back-and-forth dialogue between proponents and opponents with an additional note that Segregation of text or other content into different regions or subsections, based solely on the apparent POV of the content itself, may result in an unencyclopedic structure, such as a back-and-forth dialogue between proponents and opponents I fail to see what relevance this has to separating YG's allegedly racist lyrics controversy from the Career section, or his Legal Issues from his personal life. Please do expound on what exactly you mean by "positive" and "negative" since these do not appear in WP:STRUCTURE and seem subjective.
  • BLPBALANCE states Do not give disproportionate space to particular viewpoints; the views of small minorities should not be included at all. Care must be taken with article structure to ensure the overall presentation and section headings are broadly neutral. Beware of claims that rely on guilt by association, and biased, malicious or overly promotional content. I fail to see the relevance for not including a Legal Issues page and where your claim is supported here. It seems you may be confusing criticism, or particular viewpoints, with incidents and events. Even if you wanted to make this conflation, BLPBALANCE states Criticism and praise should be included [...] so long as the material is presented responsibly, conservatively, and in a disinterested tone which is exactly how the "Meet the Flockers" controversy and YG's legal issues are described on the page.
  • Please do share where you believe detailed focus on isolated events and criticisms has occurred on YG's page. If you are referring to the "Meet the Flockers" controversy, I'd appreciate it if you could specify why having a controversy section for this controversy is too detailed of a focus on the controversy, when there are multiple reliable sources covering this controversy occurring over several years.
Wikipedious1 (talk) 01:54, 22 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The issue here is that you're taking negative information about a living person and not only giving it heavy focus but actively highlighting it in a way that portrays the figure in a negative light instead of neutrally. Wikipedia is not a place to collect criticisms and attacks against individuals. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 🛸 03:32, 22 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
If YG has legal issues or a controversy over his lyrics, and reliable sources report this, it is not "taking negative information" or "collecting attacks against individuals" to include this information in his article under relevant subheadings. It is not giving heavy focus to these incidents or "portraying" the figure "negatively" (again, whatever that means, since it seems you refuse to explain your use of "positive" and "negative") to collect information under relevant subheadings responsibly, conservatively, and in a disinterested tone. Help with Edit, Giorgio Moroder Academy awards

[edit]

Hi, I have been notified you are my wiki mentor, wondering if you can help with something.

I have been trying to add Giorgio Moroder to the list of 3 time academy award winners, but this guy keeps reverting it. I dont want to keep editing it and it gets reverted.

Please can you help with what I am doing wrong, I have asked on the talk page but noone has provded any feedback.

Edits were made on 28th April 25, talk page is under "giorgio Moroder".

Thanks! MrYehboi (talk) 20:21, 24 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting. Normally I would say you need to add the citation in the edit, but that article has an unusual structure and doesn't use citations for its tables. Either way, you were right to make a post on the talk page and I'm sorry that no one responded. Tbhotch might be able to weigh in on the reverts, but big picture that article probably needs a larger revamp if issues like this are to be avoided. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 🛸 20:35, 24 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Moroder hasn't won 3 Oscars for songwriting. He has won 2 Oscars for songwriting and 1 for scoring. The edit summary was misleading. Tbhotch (CC BY-SA 4.0) 22:29, 24 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, but I read the edit summary, not what was being added. Tbhotch (CC BY-SA 4.0) 22:51, 24 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, how have you been?

[edit]

We have worked together many times, and I've seen you in a bunch of places. How are you doing? Wikieditor662 (talk) 02:16, 18 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I'm doing pretty well, on Wikipedia and in general. Took a much needed break from Wikipedia a couple months ago and now I'm working on a bunch of projects. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 🛸 02:40, 18 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Glad to hear you've enjoyed your break! What projects are you working on? And do you think I could invite you to another project? Wikieditor662 (talk) 02:46, 18 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
This year I've been trying to fix the merger system and get some of the old merge proposals addressed, clean up the backlog at Category:Wikipedia neutral point of view disputes, get in good article reviews so I'm reviewing more than I'm nominating, and write the articles about the calendar years of the 2000s (I've finished with 2001, 2002, and 2003). As well as whatever other articles that catch my eye to work on. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 🛸 02:53, 18 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Well, best of luck with that. Do you think you can take on a little more? Wikieditor662 (talk) 03:09, 18 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
What are we working on? Thebiguglyalien (talk) 🛸 03:21, 18 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Well, there's a project I've been building, would you like to help out? Wikieditor662 (talk) 03:42, 18 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
My impression of this is that it's essentially restating already existing policies. It would need to bring something to the table that isn't already provided by any of the existing discussion areas. You might also want to look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Democracy if you haven't already, which covered some ground adjacent to this but seems inactive now. I'm not really a WikiProject person so others might have more insight. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 🛸 05:09, 18 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
If I understood correctly, in my conversation with whatamidoing I was informed that uniqueness is not a requirement to start a project, as long as enough members are on board. Still, I've been looking into this, and am actively working on making sure this stays distinctive. Wikieditor662 (talk) 05:18, 18 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
So, would you like to join? You don't have to do much if you don't want to, even just signing up would help us out a lot. Wikieditor662 (talk) 19:41, 22 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not convinced that the project is going to add to anything that isn't already being attempted elsewhere. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 🛸 20:08, 22 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It's not just about what the plan is but who is doing such... change becomes far more effective with multiple people trying to reach the same goals. We could improve Wikipedia far more if we work together rather than alone. Wikieditor662 (talk) 21:54, 22 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, but I'm not interested. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 🛸 22:39, 22 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, you're always welcome to let me know if you change your mind. Thanks for your time! Wikieditor662 (talk) 00:18, 23 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to the 2026 WikiCup!

[edit]

Happy New Year and Happy New WikiCup! The 2026 competition has just begun and all article creators, expanders, improvers and reviewers are welcome to take part. Even if you are a novice editor, we hope the WikiCup will give you a chance to improve your editing skills as you go. If you have already signed up, your submissions page can be found here. If you have not yet signed up, you can add your name here, and a bot will set up your submissions page within one day, ready for you to take part. Any questions on the scoring, rules or anything else should be directed to one of the judges, or posted to the WikiCup talk page.

For the 2026 WikiCup, the highest-ranking contestants will receive tournament points at the end of each round, and final rankings are decided by the number of tournament points each contestant has. This is the same scoring system that we had last year. If you're busy and can't sign up in January, don't worry: Signups are open throughout the year. To make things fairer for latecomers, the lowest-scoring contestants are no longer eliminated at the end of each round.

The first round will end on 26 February. The judges for the WikiCup this year are: Cwmhiraeth (talk · contribs · email), Epicgenius (talk · contribs · email), Frostly (talk · contribs · email), Guerillero (talk · contribs · email) and Lee Vilenski (talk · contribs · email). [edit]

Hey, happy new year! I hope you are doing well and having a lovely week. I am a bit confused as to why you closed this [1] as it's only been 5 days since your review and you're meant to give reviewers 7 days. Also, if you go to the article history, I had said in an edit that I was making GA changes. I just had planned to finish it in early January as I was occupied with other tasks. I thought I had commented on the review but J realised I must have forgotten to press submit, but a curtsey ping would have been nice. I am just disappointed as there are meant to be 7 days given to be addressed but only 5 were given with no warning and I had really hoped to finish my changes today/tomorrow and get it to GA, so I am really upset. Is there any chance you could please reopen it for another day or two in good faith to allow me to finish my changes please? DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 06:51, 2 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

This wasn't a hold, it was a quickfail. The article was plagiarized and needed a full rewrite. I left it open in case you wanted to rewrite the article immediately and not have to go through renomination, but I see this only had the effect of stringing it along. In the future I'll try to avoid keeping reviews in a limbo state like this and either put a full review on hold or quickfail immediately. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 🛸 15:58, 2 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Just a note: having a lot of quotes is not plagiarism. You are making it seem like I copy and pasted it from another source when in reality this isn't the case. I understand your reasoning but your words hurt as it makes it seem like I just stole someone else's work when the isn't the case, I spent days writing the article. I wish you could have given me a chance to finish my changes. DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 17:53, 2 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I need some helps to share some info about eToken.World Kingdom.

How to start a first page? --EToken.World Kingdom (talk) 12:51, 17 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

EToken.World Kingdom, articles are created at Wikipedia:Article wizard, but I strongly advise against this. Using Wikipedia for promotional purposes is not allowed. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 🛸 14:42, 17 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
