Just so you know, it's fine for users to blank their talk pages instead of archiving them, under WP:OWNTALK. It at least confirms to us that they saw the messages. Belbury (talk) 08:19, 29 March 2025 (UTC) |

The edit summary field looks like this: Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes) Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account, you can give yourself a reminder by setting Preferences → Editing →
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. |
Italian brainrot and restrictions
[edit]I hadn't seen it before, but the article Italian brainrot is currently under a Arbitration Committee restriction. This restriction means only extended-confirmed editors can edit the article and that only one revert is permitted per 24-hour period. Since I did not see this restriction until I opened the talk page, I assume you didn't either. Unfortunately, this means you can not edit the article until you are an extended-confirmed editor, which happens automatically once you reach a few milestones as a registered editor. If you have questions, respond here or my talk page. ~ Pbritti (talk) 03:32, 30 April 2025 (UTC)
Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practices;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Additionally, you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days, and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on any page within this topic.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template. This notice is in reference to the part of the Italian brainrot article that is related to the Arab-Israeli conflict. Sarsenet•he/they•(talk) 09:17, 3 May 2025 (UTC)

Hi Thegoofhere! I noticed that you recently made an edit and marked it as "minor", but it may not have been. "Minor edit" has a specific definition on Wikipedia: it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. Sarsenet•he/they•(talk) 04:35, 8 May 2025 (UTC)

BLP violation?
[edit]Per WP:BLPTALK, the Biography of a Living Person rules still apply on User Pages. You claimed that that IP is Joe Biden is pretty thin ice. I don't think it is clear cut enough for me to revert it (plus it is also pretty clearly a joke) but you probably want to remove it, just to be safe.
Also, I just want to say that you are doing great with your articles, you are filling a niche in Wikipedia that not many people want to fill, thank you!

Hello. You're invited to participate in The World Destubathon. We're aiming to destub a lot of articles and also improve longer stale articles. It started today on Monday June 16 and will run until Sunday July 13. There is over $3300 going into it, with $500 the top prize. If you are interested in winning something to save you money in buying books for future content, or just see it as a good editathon opportunity to see a lot of articles improved for subjects which interest you, sign up on the page in the participants section if interested. I'm hoping to see some of our older stale US articles improved! Even if you can only manage a few articles they would be very much appreciated and help make the content produced as diverse and broad as possible! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:12, 16 June 2025 (UTC)

Regarding the See also section that might (or might NOT) be added on Serbia Strong (which may or may not be made by me)
[edit]I got inspired by the idea of the See also section on one of the pages you created, which is 100 men versus a gorilla, which had Man or bear, another Internet thought experiment with a similar premise, and Harambe, another Internet meme featuring a gorilla. The reason why I'm inspired by it is since you're interested in Countryballs and Italian brainrot is that I want to add the aforementioned articles onto the See also section, since one of the nicknames for Serbia Strong is "Remove Kebab", a catchphrase for Serbiaball from Countryballs. The reason why I also wanted to add Italian brainrot in the See also section is that just like Serbia Strong, some Italian brainrot memes (such as Tralalero Tralala and Bombardino Crocodillo) are Islamophobic and make fun of an ethnic group (Palestinians for Bombardino Crocodillo, and Bosnians (refered to as Turks) and Croatians for Serbia Strong. Should we add this? DiscoveringMysteries03 (talk) 21:30, 10 July 2025 (UTC)
- We can do that for Countryballs, but I'm not really sure if we should include Italian brainrot there 🇺🇸Thegoofhere🇺🇸 (talk) 21:34, 10 July 2025 (UTC)

DYK for 100 men versus a gorilla
[edit]On 18 July 2025, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article 100 men versus a gorilla, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that according to the Zoo Miami communications director, 100 men could beat a single gorilla if they "envelop the gorilla and create a human straightjacket"? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/100 men versus a gorilla. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, 100 men versus a gorilla), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Closing discussion on TACO article
[edit]Wikipedia:Closing discussions#Closure procedure is the process for this, when it's needed. It should be an uninvolved editor who closes it, rather than the editor who started the discussion. You can ask at WP:RFCL for someone to close a discussion for you.
I don't think this one needed closing, though. Most talk page threads are fine to leave open forever. Belbury (talk) 13:38, 7 August 2025 (UTC)

I already started a discussion on on the edits on Talk:Iran–Israel war#Tag Freesucrose repeatedly removed a maintenance tag without giving an explanation, please see WP:CRV. There is some slight consensus that the lead is way too long, see Talk:Iran–Israel war#Lead section. There is nothing disruptive in simply reverting unexplained removals of tags, especially when it involves an issue with the article's lead that still has yet to be fixed.Thegoofhere (talk) 22:26, 1 September 2025 (UTC)

Please include the original unblock request.
Decline reason:
Per SFR's response below, you have not shown you actually understand why your edits were disruptive and merited a block, so I can't unblock from this appeal. As it's only for 72 hours and is half-done already I suggest you take the next day to re-read the policies around contentious topics and edit warring, then come back with a fresh head. - The page is under WP:1RR sanctions, as is the entire Arab/Israel conflict, so you blew past a hard line. This recent unblock request doesn't demonstrate that you understand that edit warring is disruptive, and that you think that thinking you were correct excuses it. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Photo of the 6-7 Kid, 2025.jpg
[edit]
Thank you for uploading File:Photo of the 6-7 Kid, 2025.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. tony 02:29, 9 September 2025 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:Photo of the 6-7 Kid, 2025.jpg
[edit]
Thanks for uploading File:Photo of the 6-7 Kid, 2025.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of non-free use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:31, 12 September 2025 (UTC)

Hi Thegoofhere! I noticed that you've made several edits in order to restore your preferred version of Battle for Dream Island. The impulse to repeatedly undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure that you're aware of Wikipedia's edit warring policy. Repeatedly undoing the changes made by other users in a back-and-forth fashion like this is disallowed, even if you feel what you're doing is justifiable.
All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages in order to try to reach a consensus with the other editors involved. If you are unable to come to an agreement at Talk:Battle for Dream Island, please use one of the dispute resolution options that are available in order to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of repeatedly reverting other editors' changes can help you avoid getting drawn into edit wars. Just a note! Your getting close to your WP:3RR limit.
