I had two questions about the OED 3rd edition:

• Is there an estimated time when it will be finished?
• According to the Wikipedia entry, it seems that this edition will never be printed. If it did appear in book form, how big would it be (either in its current state or its estimated completion?). 76.7.193.12 (talk) 02:17, 24 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

However, we may observe that (as stated in Oxford English Dictionary) OED3 is expected to be completed by 2037, and to double the size of the dictionary. (Personally, I would expect both estimates to be exceeded, but I should not speculate.) Edit: OED2 in print filled 20 volumes. -- Verbarson  ^talk_edits 23:22, 24 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
