Suspected sockpuppets

Nono64 was blocked for 2 weeks on 22 Sept 2011 (with account creation blocked) - [1]. This followed many talk page complaints and at least one ANI. Nono64's last edit was on 1st Nov 2011.

User:NotWith started editing on 6th October 2011 - just after Nono64's block expired. One of the first of NotWith's edits [2] concerns Nono64. The two accounts have very similar talk page archives (format of the archiving and types of complaint they have received) - [3][4]. The contributions of both accounts look like an attempt to rack up as many edits as possible regardless of whether the edits are helpful and neither account responds to complaints/queries from other editors.

I asked NotWith to disclose any alternative accounts ([5]) and they didn't respond - just carried on editing (mostly adding articles to a category tree that is already at CFD).

This use of two accounts appears to be an (inept) attempt to avoid WP:SCRUTINY. DexDor (talk) 16:51, 2 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Accused parties may also comment/discuss in this section below. See Defending yourself against claims. If they are the same person (and it has been suggested before at User talk:Stemonitis/Archive37#royal mess) there may have been an attempt to avoid scrutiny in the past (although it could have just been a change of username) but NotWith has been editing for more than two years now. Unless there are any restrictions on Nono64 a sockpuppet investigation is probably unnecessary. If NotWith is editing disruptively that is an issue separate from any sockpuppetry that may have occurred years ago, so I suggest dealing with it separately and closing this investigation. information Administrator note This seems okay per WP:CLEANSTART. Not perfect, but there is no editing overlap between the two accounts aside from a few edits by Nono64 to archive the user talk page. It looks like an attempt to shed a block log, but NotWith has kept a clean block log for more than 3 years. Honestly, except for connecting the two editors explicitly (such as redirecting Nono64's user page to NotWith or something along those lines) I don't see any actions that we really could take, since no policies are being violated. And I don't think that any actions are necessary here. As Peter James said above, any new disruption should be dealt with separately. -- Atama 22:12, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
