| Points of interest related to Florida on Wikipedia: Outline – History – Portal – Category – WikiProject – Alerts – Deletions – Cleanup – Stubs – Assessment – To-do |
This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Florida. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
- You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Florida|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Florida. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
- Further information
- For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.
This list is also part of the larger list of deletion debates related to US.

Was one-term mayor in 1950s for Eau Gallie, Florida (which had a population of around 2000 in that time period). Sources for this article are obituaries, Family Aearch, and a chronological order of the cities mayors. I didn't see any coverage on the internet outside of an obituary. - (Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL) I noticed this article was listed as a stub, so I tried to fix it. However, this article is highly likely a permanent stub. Most of the sources are citing the mall’s design and ownership and devs, but don’t go in complete depth or detail of its history, thus why the article likely ends at “The mall opened in 2002.” This is a clear sign of a lack of notability.

Marketplace arricle was created and most of the sources are coming from a single inbcident that happened in 2024 after doing before at google news. This is a case of a single event, thus failing notability. 🍕BP!🍕 (🔔) 06:04, 14 December 2025 (UTC)

- Keep, but I’ll update this if I can’t find enough info to fix it I’m currently updating the article to fix its issues from a lack of citations and a lack of context. However, if I can’t find anything to correct it, then it should be deleted for lack of notability. One incident does not justify notability. Update Dec 15 2025 10:29 PM EST: I added History, moved the incident to a seperate section called “Incidents”, and gone over the marketplace’s decline. - Aspifi 9:01 PM, December 14, 2025 (EST)
- Keep Sorely needs newspaper sourcing, but this meets the GNG. I'm also seeing coverage that was picked up in wire services (UPI did an article on the development), and The Atlanta Journal and Constitution did a lengthy comparative article set on June 13, 1989, on Bayside and similar festival marketplace projects done by Rouse — which all have articles: Jacksonville Landing, The Outlet Collection at Riverwalk, Underground Atlanta, Harborplace. There is very substantial in-market coverage as well. A 2016 article in The Miami Herald called Bayside "among the city's most popular tourist draws". Aspifi, you should look into WP:TWL for Newspapers.com access if this is your topic area. Sammi Brie (she/her · t · c) 06:49, 15 December 2025 (UTC)

Fails WP:CRIMINAL, his crimes were only covered by local newspapers and are certianly not "historic". Dozens of low-profile criminals appear on local newspapers for murder every day, which is why notability standards for criminals is higher than GNG. A repeat offender appearing on the local news twice for WP:ROUTINE crimes is WP:ROTM ("random Florida man got arrested a second time in our county!") and scarcely does anything to help one achieve notability. - Keep The subject is covered by extensive reliable and verifiable sources that cover the subject in depth. I'm no sure where our nominator comes from, but describing a serial killer as a run-of-the-mill ("random Florida man got arrested a second time in our county!") petty criminal appears to be misleading, at best, and hardly justifies deletion. Alansohn (talk) 08:31, 5 December 2025 (UTC)
- None of the sources say he is a serial killer, they only say that he described himself as such [3][4]. Claiming to be something that could make someone notable and actually being such thing is quite different. V. S. Video (talk) 16:36, 5 December 2025 (UTC)

The notability of this subject is questionable. The business profile in Inc. (currently reference one) is really the only independent source currently cited that covers the subject in any kind of depth. The other coverage by Inc. and the Financial Times appears to be nothing more than austere rankings sometimes accompanied by a brief paragraph about the company and/or a company self-description.
Many other sources cited in the article are of unknown editorial quality, such as the industry publication Behavioral Health Business. Further, many sources focus on the organization's founder more than the actual organization (e.g., the firm Ernst & Young giving him their "Entrepreneur of the Year" award).
In recent months, the subject has made mainstream news after being sued by the grocery chain Publix for alleged insurance fraud, which raises its notability, but perhaps not by enough to warrant a standalone Wikipedia article. DoItFastDoItUrgent (talk) 15:29, 2 December 2025 (UTC)

The article doesn’t meet WP:GNG or WP:BIO. Almost all sources are promotional blogs, PR-style features, or company-affiliated writeups. They repeat Marino’s business résumé but don’t provide independent, in-depth coverage about him as a subject. The only reliable sources (Variety) barely mention Marino and are focused on the film Lice, not on him personally. His notability in those articles is routine involvement as Kevin Connolly’s business partner, which falls under WP:NOTINHERITED. Acrom12 (talk) 03:36, 15 November 2025 (UTC)

The article cites several sources with substantial content about the subject, demonstrating notability beyond routine coverage. Additional reliable sources have been provided by Yolandagonzales, further strengthening the case for notability. - Delete I'm not sure if any of the 3 sources mentioned above are actually notability-lending. The "Yahoo" article is actually from "The Blast" and that article reads like churnalism, as does the CEO World article (the profile for the author of that article states that she "specializes in delivering strategic content" so it's probably either a PR pitched story or a paid article). "Deadline News" allows people to submit their own articles and the one on Marino was submitted by an unknown "guest" writer. Best, GPL93 (talk) 16:49, 25 November 2025 (UTC)

- You are right about The Blast. I checked only the three sources mentioned by Yolandagonzales. Among others in the article, I cannot access backstage-lounge.com. The "About" page for hollywoodheat says, "If you would like to advertise on our sites or contact us for any reason, please get in touch with us here", and it has no guarantee that sponsored content would be marked[6]. I distrust mycherrypop as it has only three writers, with two of them labeled as freelance[7]. The writer who authored an article on Marino only wrote seven pieces for the outlet[8]. The situation with starstruckextreme is similar, five authors[9], with the one who wrote about Marino authoring roughly 30 pieces, only two of which were in the last year[10]. These two sites look more like the blogs of their chief editors than actual media outlets. Now, back to The Blast, I would say that it lacks significant coverage, as there are only two paragraphs about Marino with roughly 75 words[11]. Kelob2678 (talk) 18:59, 4 December 2025 (UTC)
