This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Illinois. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
- You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Illinois|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Illinois. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
- Further information
- For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.
This list is also part of the larger list of deletion debates related to US.

Pastor and perennial candidate from Alabama. I don't see the argument for notability. You don't get a Wikipedia page just for running for office a bunch of times. I'd support a redirect to 2022 United States Senate election in Alabama which at this time seems to be his most notable run. BottleOfChocolateMilk (talk) 13:38, 11 October 2025 (UTC)

- Keep what would the argument be for not keeping? Lasting coverage goes from his old campaigns in 2016 to 2026, ten years of coverage, and WP:BLP1E does not apply since there are several events here. Although a note that I was unsure, hence why I went through AfC. I have seen the BLP1E argument applied in political candidate discussions and it does not apply here Yoblyblob (Talk) :) 14:48, 11 October 2025 (UTC)

- Comment perennial candidate can meet WP:GNG and, in my opinion, tend to approach that point at around a decade of campaigns. However, editors in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Geoff Young (2nd nomination) seemed to want 7 or 8 campaigns instead of 5. TulsaPoliticsFan (talk) 22:20, 11 October 2025 (UTC)

Not seeing sufficient coverage to meet WP:GNG, let alone WP:NCORP. Many passing mentions e.g. [1] [2], but no WP:SIGCOV. No obvious merge target. Cheers, Suriname0 (talk) 15:50, 7 October 2025 (UTC)

- University bio of Dana Dominiak suggests to that the company itself is not the notable part. Not sure of an alternative to deletion. IgelRM (talk) 23:25, 9 October 2025 (UTC)
- Keep per WP:GNG and WP:HEY. Sources added include "Raspberry Pi goes retro games crazy", a 2016 article in Electronics Weekly; "Game Developers Who Redeemed Themselves", a 2023 article in Game Rant; and the 2016 GameGrin article identified by nominator, "Webfoot Technologies Gauging Interest in New Legacy of Goku or Remake", which I would argue is more than just a passing mention. Incidentally, the Webfoot developers have also branched out into other types of apps like Breast Self Exam, an app to track potential breast cancer, as discussed in this 2013 article in The Record. (That said, I regret prematurely moving this article to Webfoot Games.) Cielquiparle (talk) 15:21, 11 October 2025 (UTC)
- I greatly appreciate your work on this article! Unfortunately, this still looks short of the bar to me. GameGrin is listed as an unreliable source at Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Sources, the Game Rant article is a listicle at a WP:VALNET site, and the The Record is a literal one-sentence mention (in passing). I can't access the EBSCO link and I can't find a copy of the March 2016 Electronics Weekly in their archives; if it's an in-depth profile of the company and not just a brief mention of a Pi project they published, that might get us closer... Cheers, Suriname0 (talk) 20:07, 11 October 2025 (UTC)
- Merge but unsure to which of their games as a candidate, as it fails WP:NCORP. I guess I have a different standard of what constitutes a trivial mention, as other than TheGamer commenting on the quality of their output as a whole, most of these only briefly mention the studio itself in a sentence or two and focus mostly on their individual titles:
- -Electronics Weekly: Dana Dominiak of Webfoot Games got in touch to tell us that they're porting most of their catalogue to the Pi, with no fewer than 15 games and game packs already available for free. Webfoot intends to port all of its games to Pi, where licensing permits: "several per week for as long as there is interest".
- - GameGrin: Webfoot Technologies, the developer behind several of the Dragon Ball Z games on the Game Boy Advance amongst many others across multiple platforms, have been busy posting pictures to their Facebook page.
- - Southtown Star: Lemont is home to Webfoot Technologies Inc., a computer game developer.
- - The Record" Webfoot Technologies Inc., a co-owner, made the app, which is patent pending.
I don't think the above is sufficient secondary information to reliably verify and substantiate the notability of the studio as opposed to their works. VRXCES (talk) 22:04, 11 October 2025 (UTC)
- They developed numerous games, I don't think there is a single primary target here. WP is not a games database. IgelRM (talk) 05:02, 13 October 2025 (UTC)

- Comment. There is consensus that the Webfoot games as a group are notable, in light of the existence of significant coverage in secondary sources, so per WP:NLIST a rather straightforward solution would be to rename this article to something like List of games developed by Webfoot Technologies or List of Webfoot games, rather than merging and redirecting to a specific title. - Keep. She was fired not once but twice from different news publications, which is definitely interesting in and of itself and generated WP:SIGCOV in both instances. She was first fired in 1983 [7] [8] from the California Lawyer magazine, leading to some dispute. She was fired again in 2006 from the Daily News Group [9], with coverage on her return to column writing [10]. She wasn't just a "journalist", but the founder of a notable magazine California Lawyer, and the editor-in-chief of multiple news organizations. She not only qualifies for notability under the WP:GNG, but under WP:JOURNALIST as her reporting is acknowledged as a valuable journalist in the Palo Alto area. That is why she was listed in Marquis' Who's Who [11]. Marquis' Who's Who isn't great evidence for notability anymore, but it is another piece of evidence given that they have selection processes. She also won several journalism awards [12] [13]. Katzrockso (talk) 01:44, 6 October 2025 (UTC)

This list seems to be functioning as a web page directory, not as an encyclopedic list with a certain amount of notability. This duplicates the list on the union's web site, which seems like a more appropriate place for readers to go to find this information. -- Beland (talk) 23:17, 30 September 2025 (UTC)

- Delete. Clear case of WP:NOTDIR and also doesn't satisfy WP:NLIST either. Ajf773 (talk) 02:50, 1 October 2025 (UTC)
- Keep. The topic is notable, and could be included with the main article but for its size. The main reason given for deletion is also invalid: NOTDIR does not describe this kind of list, but random information with no particular reason to appear together in an encyclopedia, giving five specific instances, none of which describe the contents here: this is not a 1) a simple list without context (context is provided); 2) a collection of loosely-associated topics (these all belong to a single topic); 3) a non-encyclopedic cross-categorization (not a cross-categorization, since they all belong to a single category); 4) a list of genealogical entries (not genealogical); 4) an electronic program guide (not a program guide); or 5) a resource for conducting business (it's not comercially-related, and provides no information about products or pricing). Emphasis mine. This is very much in the spirit of what's addressed here, even if it not specifically listed as an example. 35.139.154.158 (talk) 19:39, 1 October 2025 (UTC)Although there are debates about the encyclopedic merits of several classes of entries, consensus is that the following are good examples of what Wikipedia is not. The examples under each section are not exhaustive.
- But NOTDIR is being cited, and NOTDIR doesn't have anything remotely applicable. You can't just claim that a policy applies because it sounds to you like it ought to apply. It almost sounds like you're citing WP:INDISCRIMINATE, another policy that's constantly cited without any obvious correlation between anything said under it and the thing they're upset about being included in Wikipedia. But there is nothing indiscriminate about a list of chapters of a notable organization. That's the opposite of indiscriminate. If NOTDIR meant "lists of sub-units of something notable", surely that would be the very first thing mentioned. The fact that nothing of the sort is mentioned at all under NOTDIR speaks volumes. P Aculeius (talk) 22:19, 1 October 2025 (UTC)
- NOTDIR says:
That sounds to me like it very much does apply. As mentioned, the examples following that preamble are not exhaustive, and cannot possibly cover every conceivable case. This is a mere directory listing of over 250 local chapters of a particular union. Maintaining such a list is outside Wikipedia's scope. 35.139.154.158 (talk) 07:21, 2 October 2025 (UTC)Wikipedia encompasses many lists of links to articles within Wikipedia that are used for internal organization or to describe a notable subject. In that sense, Wikipedia functions as an index or directory of its own content. However, Wikipedia is not a directory of everything in the universe that exists or has existed.

- Delete. Very very clear case of the sort of thing that WP:NOTDIR is meant to address. See also this essay for a bit of context on the phenomenon of how this sort of list comes about to be. It didn't belong in the main article, and it doesn't belong in a standalone list either. Kill it now. Kill it with fire. 35.139.154.158 (talk) 19:39, 1 October 2025 (UTC)
- Keep. I question whether those citing WP:NOTDIR have actually read the policy because it clearly does not match a list with a clear limited and defined scope such as this list. If they did read it, they didn’t understand it. I’m not really seeing a good argument that this doesn’t meet NLIST either based on the sourcing in the parent article. Seems like a valid WP:SPINOUT. This is just another badly made deletion argument that boils down to WP:IDONTLIKEIT by trying to cite policies that aren’t applicable.4meter4 (talk) 07:10, 8 October 2025 (UTC)

Please add new comments below this notice. Thanks, Brandon (talk) 08:07, 8 October 2025 (UTC)- I have definitely read the WP:NOTDIR policy and can confirm that this is clearly an example of the first category of notdir, it's a simple list of web-links to contact each local, analogous to a list of telephone numbers (okay, if you really really push it you can just about claim that the "craft(s)" column is contextual information, but frankly that's stretching things to an unreasonable extent). Having a defined scope doesn't rescue a directory from being a directory. If you believe in NOTDIR, this article is, unfortunately, a delete. Elemimele (talk) 08:49, 8 October 2025 (UTC)
