Several editors have added Pope Leo XIV to the lead of Dolton, Illinois, (his childhood home).

My experience is that famous people are not generally added to the lead of city articles.

There's also a photo of his house.

There appears to be a new trend of mass turning city infoboxes in to photo galleries, especially in UK cities (e.g. Harrogate, Worcester, Dover, Canterbury, Bradford, Sheffield, York, etc). What is the general guideline here? IMO it turns articles into a tourist guides. The practice does not strictly conform to the use of infoboxes. I would have thought that multiple images, if absolutely necessary, should preferably be in a gallery at the end of the article as they are in most city articles. @Downspec, I don't disagree but my contention was the over use of images in infoboxes. Infoboxes, like the lede are supposed to be a very brief overview of the article. Usually an nice photo is sufficient to illustrate each major section of an article, then like your user page, a nice gallery at the end of the article if more images are really needed. A long article such as, for example, Malvern ( a GA) has the right balance of illustrations, while the Phuket article is an atrocious overuse of images, many of which have no specific relevance but turn the page into a brochure for tourism. Over the years I've seen the article quality we used to strive for degenerate because there are now just too many articles and relatively insufficient growth in the number of backroom workers to clean these things up.
