Coordinators' working group

[edit]

Hi! I'd like to draw your attention to the new WikiProject coordinators' working group, an effort to bring both official and unofficial WikiProject coordinators together so that the projects can more easily develop consensus and collaborate. This group has been created after discussion regarding possible changes to the A-Class review system, and that may be one of the first things discussed by interested coordinators. All designated project coordinators are invited to join this working group. If your project hasn't formally designated any editors as coordinators, but you are someone who regularly deals with coordination tasks in the project, please feel free to join as well. — Delievered by §hepBot (Disable) on behalf of the WikiProject coordinators' working group at 05:14, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Another RfC on capitalization of all our articles

[edit]

I thought this was a done deal back in this 2022 RFC but obviously not. A handful of editors did another rfc with no sports projects input at all. And it's being challenged because we just noticed it. This could affect almost every single tennis and Olympic article we have, and goodness know how many other sports. Some may have already been moved it you weren't watching the article. And not just the article titles will be affected but all the player bios that link to the articles. Sure the links would be piped to the right place if thousands of articles moved, but if the wording in a bio still said 2023 Wimbledon Championships – Men's singles or Swimming at the 2020 Summer Olympics – Men's 200 metre backstroke that would likely need to be changed by hand. There is also talk of removing the ndash completely.

Perhaps this is what sports projects want and perhaps not. Either way I certainly don't want projects ill-informed as the last RfC was handled. Express your thoughts at the following rfc. Fyunck(click) (talk) 20:49, 20 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Change of Status

[edit]

There has been some activity in this WikiProject. Should the status be changed to at least semi-active? 23impartial (talk) 18:00, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Her article is being proposed for addition to Vital articles - see Wikipedia_talk:Vital_articles/Level/5/Subpage_1 - and the description "the most celebrated Russian ballerina of the 19th century" (unsourced since the article's creation in 2005) has been challenged. Someone here might be interested? PamD 09:00, 6 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Dmitri Shostakovich has an RfC for possible consensus. A discussion is taking place. If you would like to participate in the discussion, you are invited to add your comments on the discussion page. Thank you. —CurryTime7-24 (talk) 19:00, 26 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, can you help review this article and offer any suggestions if possible? Looks like it was moved to the draft space due to only having used one source for it back when I created it, but I have added some more. I'd also love to get some pointers to make sure I can improve the quality. Blue nutcracker (talk) 08:52, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Tables vs Columns for Dancer Lists

[edit]

Hi, I came upon this interesting comment at the royal ballet talk page. It seemed like a pretty good question for this project. Essentially it states that sometimes a column format is used for listing principal dancers of a ballet company and sometimes a table is used, and it asks if we could have a standard format for listing dancers in dance companies. I assumed that the current format was that principal dancers would get listed in a table format, and other less notable dancers (like corps de ballet and so on) would be listed in a column format. Is this the standard format being used? If not, should we use it? I personally seem to think that the column format doesn't highlight each dancer as much, but from what I understand Sophoife seems to find it unappealing or not very aesthetically pleasing. I was wondering if other people feel the same way? Either way it would be nice to have a standard format for this. It might just make each article look more professional and well polished. Jazz Age Lawn Party

[edit]

Could someone from this WikiProject take a look at Jazz Age Lawn Party and assess it? It's a new article created a few days ago which (I think) might fall within the purview of this WikiProject. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:48, 17 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Can somebody please find and add sources to this stub? Bearian (talk) 01:16, 4 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I would appreciate the input of others at Kilgore College Rangerettes. I have been struggling to remove user-generated content, and long lists of non-notables...with much resistance. Thank you! Magnolia677 (talk) 15:46, 17 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Production of RuPaul's Drag Race

[edit]

Are any project members interested in helping to flesh out the Choreography section of the Production of RuPaul's Drag Race article? ---Another Believer (Talk) 02:26, 11 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

This stub about a Greek dance has been unsourced for 15 years. There are potential sources in Google books, and perhaps in some dance classes' notes. Can someone please think of the children by adding more content and reliable sources? Bearian (talk) 20:57, 22 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

New WikiProject

[edit]

Hello!

I propose a WikiProject with the working title of Art & Architecture Copyedits.

The proposed WikiProject has two main goals:

  1. To copyedit any articles related to Art & Architecture that have the copyedit or clarify tag, and
  2. To create a supportive, welcoming space for newcomers. Experienced editors are also very appreciated, especially for the proposal process, but the WikiProject, once created, will mainly be recruiting newcomers.

If you would like to join, please do comment below, and I'll ping you during the proposal to confirm your intent. I will be posting this message on all related WikiProjects. All experience levels appreciated! 22ManzanaBoy (talk) 14:17, 15 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Dance in ancient Rome

[edit]

I am pleased to offer you a page labeled "quality article" by the French Wikipedia (a subject ignored in all other languages – barely touched on in WP ES, in fact): Dance in ancient Rome - in French. If you create a page on this topic, I would be happy to read it to discover new sources. Kind regards, Égoïté (talk) 13:43, 13 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting Égoïté--thank you for this; I may take you up on transwikifying the article here. I will be sure to ping you if and when I do. SnowRise let's rap 06:07, 26 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

There is a requested move discussion at Talk:Chhau dance#Requested move 31 December 2025 that may be of interest to members of this WikiProject. Vestrian24Bio 05:18, 12 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Photography

[edit]

Hello I am a member of the WikiPortrait, which is a project dedicated to getting more high-quality, Creative Commons licensed portraits for WikiMedia Commons and Wikipedia. I've noticed that many articles on even the most prominent dancers and choreographers working today are lacking portraits. Is there any way for either myself or another member of WikiPortraits could help with this? SpiritedMichelle (talk) 18:55, 25 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
