As the lead section of the article says, Carson "lived among and married into the Arapaho and Cheyenne tribes." The "Reputation" section of the article discusses the pros and cons of his actions and his character in considerable detail. Wikipedia articles, as a matter of policy, are written from the Neutral point of view, and should neither solely praise nor denounce a highly controversial figure like Carson who is both admired and reviled.
