Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by GoldRomean was:
This submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources. Reliable sources are required so that information can be verified. If you need help with referencing, please see Referencing for beginners and Citing sources.
The comment the reviewer left was:
There are a few unsourced statements. The quote doesn’t make much sense to me. I’m also worried about overdetail. Do we need to mention that “He was the architect for four houses that became the subject of a lawsuit between contractor and client over delays and extra costs due to the client holding up provision of supplies.”? Or when Atlanta's Terminal Station was built?

Your submission at Articles for creation: William Raskin (June 30)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Timtrent was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of music-related topics). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
Mindful of the preceding comments, I cannot accept a draft with the rationale that (paraphrased) 'it is his songs that render him notable' when the songs do not appear to be notable.

Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
His songs may be notable, but notability cannot be inherited, there is no significant coverage of him in the sources?
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.
Theroadislong (talk) 12:53, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
User:Theroadislong your statement is incorrect. For a songwriter, having written notable songs establishes notability.
Here is the Wikipedia criteria:
"Composers, songwriters, librettists or lyricists, may be notable if they meet at least one of the following criteria:
Has credit for writing or co-writing either lyrics or music for a notable composition.
Has written musical theatre of some sort (e.g., musicals, operas) that was performed in a notable theatre that had a reasonable run, as such things are judged in their particular situation, context, and time.
Has had a work used as the basis for a later composition by a songwriter, composer, or lyricist who meets the above criteria.
Has written a composition that has won (or in some cases been given a second or other place) in a major music competition not established expressly for newcomers.
Has been listed as a major influence or teacher of a composer, songwriter, or lyricist that meets the above criteria.
Appears at reasonable length in standard reference books on their genre of music.
Where possible, composers or lyricists with insufficient verifiable material to warrant a reasonably detailed article should be merged into the article about their work. When a composer or lyricist is known for multiple works, such a merger may not be possible."
He clearly meets criteria 1. I am sure a superior editor like User:4meter4 can find the sources you desire but what I have included meets criteria 1 noted above without question. FloridaArmy (talk) 13:02, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
He also meets the "Has had a work used as the basis for a later composition by a songwriter, composer, or lyricist who meets the above criteria" criteria. Elvis Presley is pretty notable and recorded one of hos songs several times. It was also performed by the Beatles. What criteria do you want him to meet? I'm not seeing anything about the songwriters personal life, hobbies, or love interests. If you want those included as requirements for songwriter notability why not add them? FloridaArmy (talk) 13:08, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
Asyou point out above the criteris states "may be notable if they meet at least one of the following criteria" it doesn't sday that they ARE notable if they meet them. The chances of this surviving at WP:AFD are slim and that is how reviewers decide who to accept. Theroadislong (talk) 13:41, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
User:Theroadislong please take it to a deletion discussion. You are incorrect. FloridaArmy (talk) 14:00, 30 June 2025 (UTC)

Your submission at Articles for creation: Betty Morgan (singer) (June 30)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Lijil was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of music-related topics). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
It's quite possible that she's notable but it's still not clear from the draft. Which major record label did she release albums on? What were the names of the albums? You mention "Don't Bite the Hand That's Feeding You" and "Cleopatra Had a Jazz Band" but are they albums or songs? The quotation marks suggests they are songs, as albums should be italicised. It would help our volunteer reviewers if you could identify, on the draft's talk page, the WP:THREE best sources that establish notability of the subject. It would also be helpful if you could please identify with specificity, exactly which criteria you believe the page meets (eg "I think the page now meets WP:NACTOR criteria #3, because XXXXX").
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.
Lijil (talk) 15:04, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
You made a comment and then declined before you had a chance to read my response. Not very helpful! As I explained, in the old days albums contained a few minutes of music, typically a song or two. We shouldn't require artists recording in the 1920s to have released LPs should we? Let's stick with the notability criteria. I'm sure the entry will expand over time. Wikipedia is a collaborative enterprise and it should never be expected or demanded that a single editor perfect coverage of a subject before we include it. Take care. In looking at the entry in https://encyclopediaofarkansas.net/entries/st-johns-college-3584/ and that shows the school as Johns' , not John's as does the El Dorado history minute. https://www.eldoradonews.com/news/2023/mar/15/history-minute-the-rise-and-fall-of-st-johns/ I'm going to propose a name change.Naraht (talk) 17:30, 30 June 2025 (UTC)

Thanks for the note User:Naraht. What is it in official documents from the school itself? Sources from 1850's and 1900 appear to spell it and the Masonic college as St. John's. Why would it be spelled St. Johns'? Sources on Google Books here FloridaArmy (talk) 17:37, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
And yet the first two hits from that have it spelled in different ways.Naraht (talk) 18:04, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
User:Naraht how do the best sources name it? Why would it be Johns'? FloridaArmy (talk) 18:07, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
Certainly not unknown, i.e. Johns Hopkins. Let me see what would be best as a source.Naraht (talk) 18:24, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
User:Naraht Johns Hopkins was a person. And isn't this college named for St. John? I have no objection to you initiating a discussion to rename, but I don't see the point and was trying to save you the trouble. But if calling it St. Johns' College makes sense to you, and you think that's what it's called in the strongest sources have it. Take care. FloridaArmy (talk) 18:29, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
I contacted the Arkansas State Archives. After Discussion, sent seven different newspaper articles all with St. John's. I'll talk to the people over on WP:FRAT who found the St. Johns' entries. thanx for the help, I want to leave it where it is.Naraht (talk) 19:19, 30 June 2025 (UTC)

Your submission at Articles for creation: George W. Laine (July 9)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by PunjabiEditor69 was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

I could use some help

I have a little over 600 drafts listed at User:BD2412/sandbox/archive/03 which will begin aging out as of July 15. Most of these are historical state supreme court justices. I am trying to rather methodically go through these and make improvements to reset the draft clock, and would appreciate anything you can do along these lines. Cheers! BD2412 T 01:17, 10 June 2025 (UTC)

Working from the bottom to the top I am up to 600. FloridaArmy (talk) 02:30, 10 June 2025 (UTC)
Amazing. You are a machine! BD2412 T 02:27, 11 June 2025 (UTC)
Okay, BD2412 and FloridaArmy, so this explains why next week we have a day with almost 400 expiring drafts instead of our typical 150 drafts. As long as you are aware of this occurring. BD2412, I was going to leave a note on your User talk page but I see that you are already taking some action on this. It looks like the bulk of expirations are happening during the 1800 UTC hour. Liz Read! Talk! 21:39, 9 July 2025 (UTC)
@Liz: I only have 185 left for that group. BD2412 T 21:50, 9 July 2025 (UTC)
