Re: The Traitors

[edit]

Hi, I invite you to consider WP:BRD and self-revert if you wish to discuss this further (on an appropriate talk page). Your edits have reintroduced the slew of unnecessary notes describing normal gameplay, as well as placing events against episodes they didn't occur in, so to be honest I can't see any part of them that could be kept. Big Brother Australia

[edit]

Hi, just wanted to get your opinion on using Day 0 rather than Day 1 when housemates enter the house on launch night. MSalmon (talk) 15:07, 12 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

It looks weird to me mainly because most series use launch night as Day 1 but with BBAU they canonically do not (except seasons on Nine) Since BB shows the Days on screen Launch night would be Day 0 and Jane entering on Day 2 when really for them it was 3 Days in. It is the same as the early AU seasons. I’d say keep it 0 just so other day still line up as the series goes on but yeah weird looking to me JoyfullySmile (talk) 15:24, 12 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I know it looks weird to me as well (I don't really follow the series) so I am just going to leave it MSalmon (talk) 15:28, 12 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Gotcha, yeah they been adding the days on screen and put Jane entering on Day 2.
But if you’re a fan of BB this series has been pretty fun to watch so far and very accessible for international fans too. They’re releasing episode on YouTube a day after and then you can watch the live feeds on the BBAU TikTok with little to no blockage/muting AND no VPN:) JoyfullySmile (talk) 15:40, 12 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Weekly Summaries (on both BB Australia and BBUK)

[edit]

Might just ask you about the weekly summaries on both pages, especially comparing Big Brother (Australian TV series) season 16 where I am now contributing regularly there and the recently ended series of Big Brother (British TV series) series 22 where I can't edit as I am not extended-confirmed yet.

Do you have any reasons as to why you go in a lot of details on the weekly summaries on the UK pages? I don't think it's necessary to add a lot of details on each part of the task, but rather if they "fail" a part of the task or not. The way I approach the Australia page is to just summarise without going in detail (e.g. for the most to least task, I prefer not to go in details on what categories they are doing, or what Emily and Abiola actually are getting in the secret task) so I am curious as to your decision there. DueChayapol (talk) 18:16, 16 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I generally try to follow the BB taskforce’s outline and structure while also trying to match the format used in other seasons, depending on the series. Switching from BBUK to BBAU is just adapting to different formats that are similar but still distinct, so I try to do with what past seasons have done.
It appears that “Weekly Summaries” weren’t used in any of the Channel 7 series, though they did appear in earlier seasons with some detailed summaries. I haven’t been the one fully updating BBUK pages. I actually find that level of detail a bit excessive and much for some tasks/twists. The way we’re updating the AUS page I think works perfect, being simple and straight to the point while also giving a clear picture on the tasks/twists.
The taskforce information can be found here: Wikipedia:WikiProject Big Brother/Structure of series or season articles It’s not a must and 100% has to be this way but allows for a consistent view on how things could be formatted. JoyfullySmile (talk) 20:15, 16 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'd bring it up in the talk page for the BBUK page, as I think there's way too much detail on each task so. DueChayapol (talk) 02:05, 17 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I've been going through some of the previous seasons of AUS and updating them to be similar-ish. I also made them for the most parts simpler and easier to read hopefully. JoyfullySmile (talk) 02:14, 17 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Nominations table (for early seasons of BBAU)

[edit]

Just coming in here again and ask as to why you made the changes to Season 1-8 nominations table? I think having a note at the top is already enough to describe the nominations system in those seasons. DueChayapol (talk) 09:49, 17 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

This way is easier to track points. As I was cleaning/editing I was noticing for some seasons not each vote was with points as they were sometimes a save vote, evict vote, or intruder vote. This way seasons with points are similar and when points are used or not and exactly for how much. I just did it to all seasons for consistency. Traitors UK formatting

[edit]

Hi JoyfullySmile. Regarding my edit and your revert – there's no need to combine a comma with a line break; it's two methods of delimiting list data when one will suffice. MOS:NOBR says we shouldn't separate list items with
– therefore, the best method to display the text vertically in the table would be using {{unbulleted list}}. With that in mind, would you object to this being reinstated?

I appreciate the other articles you edit for The Traitors use similar tables and formatting. While we should strive for consistency across comparable articles, this isn't more important than our obligations towards accessibility. That said, there's no reason the two can't co-exist, with the application of MOS:ACCESSIBILITY-compliant template use. MIDI (talk) 21:40, 4 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the clarification. I was mainly curious if this was the correct way to do it or not as it has not been done in the past or on any reality TV wikitable I have ever edited. Most if not all use
to break up multiple names of contestants/houseguests or survivors. This just hasn't ever been brought up for discussion or by previous editors. Now I know to use unbulleted lists. JoyfullySmile (talk) 21:57, 4 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
