Welcome to the Video games WikiProject on the English Wikipedia! We are a group dedicated to improving Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to video games.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask them on our discussion page, or by contacting participants of the project.

Purpose and Goals

Our main functions are to:

provide guidelines and recommendations for all articles related to video games;
improve Wikipedia's coverage of video games by creating, expanding and maintaining such articles;
serve as the central point of discussion for issues related to video games on Wikipedia; and
maintain the Video games portal.

We are currently working toward four major milestones:

200 Good or Featured Articles on 1980s video games: 78.5% complete

2,600 GA-Class articles: 93.6% complete

All Mid/High/Top-Importance articles C-Class or better: 80.8% complete

Participation

We welcome everyone who wishes to improve video game articles. You don't need to formally join our project in order to contribute, but feel free to indicate your participation by adding our userbox, advert or top icon to your user page. Members are welcome to join our project chat on the unofficial Wikimedia Discord server; please see WP:Discord for more information.

New users who have contributed to video game related articles can be informed about this project by adding the {{vgproj welcome}} template to their talk pages.

We have task forces within our project that provide centralized information and discussion for topics that have a sufficiently large scope, but would not benefit from having a separate WikiProject with all of the associated bureaucracy.
